Happy Mother's Day to all the Mother's here!! Here's wishing you all a very happy day. My girls are coming over and will cook for me - this is much better than going to a restaurant. Lori is making some taco dish and Darla is bringing a soup. Looking forward to it!

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y
We seem to live not only in time but also in eternity. If we abide with
God and God abides with us, we may bring forth spiritual fruit which can
last for eternity. If we live with God, our lives can flow as some calm
river through the dry land of earth. It can cause the trees and flowers
of the spiritual life--love and service--to spring forth and yield
abundantly. Spiritual work may be done for eternity, not just for now.
Even here on earth we can live as though our real lives were eternal.
P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y
I pray that I may try to make my life like cool river in a thirsty land.
I pray that I may give freely to all who ask my help.
I was taught a lesson that just six simple letters could make a
difference.
Those six letters made the word - SILENT.
Those letters when rearranged also spell the word - LISTEN.
I never truly understood that until the day I stood silent and
learned there was more to life than everyday living.
When you don't take the time to listen and be silent then
everything is easily taken for granted.
The things I wasn't silent for and listened for, I now miss the
most. A simple I love you from my child.
The request of a loved one that I was too busy for at the time.
Little did I know, that if I stayed quiet and savored things,
I could have imprinted their voices in my mind and made memories that would have lasted.
The one thing I always will be thankful for is that I learned my
lesson and heeded the call. But also that God truly is silent
and listened for my every need, but in return if I'm silent,
I can also hear from Him.
Hello! Is there too much noise in your life?
I AM your Lord God speaking!
Would you like me to speak louder?
Is it you who can't hear me already,
in the mere creation that was made by my hands;
Like the sun, which I shine on your face everyday,
or the wind, that blows through your window,
which you don't notice because you´re always in a hurry?
Can you not hear me in the Mass,
where I offer up myself to you through the Eucharist,
in a homily where my child speaks my words,
in the Bible - where I teach you how to live,
in prayer - where you listen and hear me speak,
or in any act of Love you experience
through another one of my children during a normal day?
I AM with you always, right here,
but unless you have time
and turn down the volume of the stereo of life,
how do you expect to hear me?

May 7 - Jesus Calling
If you learn to trust Me—really trust Me—with your whole being, then nothing can separate you from My Peace. Everything you endure can be put to good use by allowing it to train you in trusting Me. This is how you foil the works of evil, growing in grace through the very adversity that was meant to harm you. Joseph was a prime example of this divine reversal, declaring to his brothers: “You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good.”
Do not fear what this day, or any day, may bring your way. Concentrate on trusting Me and on doing what needs to be done. Relax in My sovereignty, remembering that I go before you, as well as with you, into each day. Fear no evil, for I can bring good out of every situation you will ever encounter.
But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
