Hello my friends! Busy day again today - seems like it's always busy. Bad news is that we will have to fix some cracks in the ceiling now before we can sell. Always something. Jeremy will do it, when he has time. The almost offer, declined because of the location, but they liked the house fine, today's showing mentioned the ceiling cracks. We had Lori and Jeremy here for supper tonight, had chicken on the grill, fresh potatoes from the garden, and yellow beans from the garden, lettuce salad with shredded carrot (from garden), kale, beet leaves and collard greens plus I put some walnuts and fresh raspberries in, and black olives. Very good and nutritious.
THE JOURNEY OF OUR LIFE
Author Unknown
A long time ago, there was an Emperor who told his horseman that if he could ride on his horse and cover as much land area as he likes, then the Emperor would give him the area of land he has covered.
Sure enough, the horseman quickly jumped onto his horse and rode as fast as possible to cover as much land area as he could. He kept on riding and riding, whipping the horse to go as fast as possible. When he was hungry or tired, he did not stop because he wanted to cover as much area as possible.
Came to a point when he had covered a substantial area and he was exhausted and was dying. Then he asked himself, "Why did I push myself so hard to cover so much land area? Now I am dying and I only need a very small area to bury myself."
The above story is similar with the journey of our Life. We push very hard everyday to make more money, to gain power and recognition. We neglect our health, time with our family and to appreciate the surrounding beauty and the hobbies we love.
One day when we look back, we will realize that we don't really need that much, but then we cannot turn back time for what we have missed.
Life is not about making money, acquiring power or recognition. Life is definitely not about work! Work is only necessary to keep us living so as to enjoy the beauty and pleasures of life. Life is a balance of Work and Play, Family and Personal time. You have to decide how you want to balance your Life. Define your priorities, realize what you are able to compromise but always let some of your decisions be based on your instincts. Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of Life, the whole aim of human existence.
So, take it easy, do what you want to do and appreciate nature. Life is fragile, Life is short. Do not take Life for granted. Live a balanced lifestyle and enjoy Life!
Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
PRAYER
"Lord Jesus, I am sorry for feeling righteous, more righteous than others. Let me humbly accept that I am no better than anybody else. You died for all of us. Nobody was exempted; you wanted to save all of us. It's up to us to stretch our hands so You can catch us. I mean to stretch my hand, until You catch me. You will catch me. This I believe. Thank You Lord, thank You Lord."
July 18 - Jesus Calling
I am nearer than you think, richly present in all your moments. You are connected to Me by Love-bonds that nothing can sever. However, you may sometimes feel alone, because your union with Me is invisible. Ask Me to open your eyes, so that you can find Me everywhere. The more aware you are of My Presence, the safer you feel. This is not some sort of escape from reality; it is tuning in to ultimate reality. I am far more Real than the world you can see, hear, and touch. Faith is the confirmation of things we do not see and the conviction of their reality, perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses.
“God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’”
-Acts 17:27–28
Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

gloriajean, we are also having to fix cracks in the ceiling with the remodel of MIL's flat before we can put it on the market in England. I hope your next showings bring positive interest. I'd like to raid your garden, so let me know when you are away from the house for awhile.
We are taking a break from the remodel and traveling France & Holland. Today we visited a very old church for service in Holland. Such a blessing to sit in these old churches with so much history.
God bless you! Talk to you again soon.

Gloria, sorry the showing of the house didn't pan out yesterday, but why would these people come to see it if they didn't like the location. I hope and pray things will work out very soon.
Sure sounds like a great meal you had there.
Blessings to all.

Hello Harlene, Puddles and Bobbiesue - thanks for the prayers for the sale of our house and we've decided that we will make allowance for the cracks in the ceiling, and that should be it instead of messing up the house with it while it's for sale.
