Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello my friends!  Last night's overnighter taking care of the twins was great!!  They only woke up for their feedings and went to sleep afterwards nicely.  They both were up for a long time in the afternoon, so it's great they got their sleep last night. Thanks for your prayers and ours!  Aria is over 10 pounds now, and Alyssa not far from there.  They are starting to coo, and talk in their own language.  Not much but it's a start and it's cute!  Won't that ever be fun to see them giggle and laugh out loud!!  Looking forward to this!  And to play with them.  Were we ever tired this morning - had our PT appointments, and cancelled our cards for this afternoon for when we won't be so tired.  So we slept most of the day!! I made a delicous ribs dinner, that felt good!!  Last night's supper there was pizza.

We have every reason to be at peace because God will either protect us from
suffering or give us immense strength to see us through it.  Lord, I set
aside my anxieties because You care for me every day in every way.

Jesus said to them, "Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and
rest a while."  ~Mark 6:31

God can work through us better when we are not hurrying.  We can go very
slowly, very quietly, from one duty to the next, taking time to rest and
pray between.  We need not be too busy.  We can take everything in order. We
can venture often into the rest of God and we can find peace.  All work that
results from resting with God is good work.  We can claim the power to work
miracles in human lives.  We can do many things with God's help.  We can do
good things through God who rests us and gives us strength.  We can partake
regularly of rest and prayer.

I pray that I may not be in too much of a hurry.  I pray that I may take
time out often to rest with God.

YOU WILL NEVER BE SORRY...

    • for thinking before acting.
    • for hearing before judging.
    • for forgiving your enemies.
    • for being candid and frank.
    • for helping a fallen brother.
    • for being honest in business.
    • for thinking before speaking.
    • for being loyal to your church.
    • for standing by your principles.
    • for closing your ears to gossip.
    • for bridling a slanderous tongue.
    • for harboring only pure thoughts.
    • for sympathizing with the afflicted.
    • for being courteous and kind to all.

A Prayer that the Gospel may be 'written' in me

God our Father, until the time of the printing press, people copied the Gospel, writing it by hand.

Slowly the Gospel took shape - both on the  page and deep within themselves.

I ask that the Gospel - the Good News of Your Love - may be written in me not with ink but with the Spirit of God.

Only then will I grow as a credible witness of the wealth of Your Love.

Day by day, as the pages of my own life turn over, remind me that You write my name on the palm of Your Hand.

I ask this prayer through Jesus, who is Your Word, living amongst us. Amen.

He Loves You So

By the Spirit
Jesus is letting you know,
That he will never
Let you go,

That his love for you
Is free and pure,
That you can trust him
And feel secure.

As you rest in Him,
Your God, your King,
Start counting the blessings
Your choice will bring,

For Christ is the friend
who will stand by your side,
While you dare to trust him
And truly abide.

By the Spirit
He will help you to grow,
Till your heart is assured
That he loves you so.

Family Prayer is Dangerous

Once a little boy of five was left alone with his father at bedtime.  It had
never happened before.

After some maneuvering and a lot of fun, the father finally got the little
fellow into his night clothes and was about to lift him into bed when the
child said, "But, Daddy, I have to say my prayers."

So he knelt down beside the bed, folded his hands, raised his eyes to
heaven, and prayed the usual "Now I lay me down to sleep."  But tonight he
took another look at his Dad, then continued to pray, "And, dear God, make
me a great big good man like my daddy.  Amen."

In a moment he was in bed and within five minutes, asleep.  Then the father
knelt by his son's bedside and prayed, "Dear Lord, make me a great big good
man, like my boy thinks I am."

Daily Prayer

Lord,
Allow me to use the experience and knowledge I have gained
for the benefit of my family and friends. Give me wisdom, so
that I may be wise. Not in the wisdom of the world, but in
my dealings with people, so that I may advise sensibly,
support regularly, encourage frequently, challenge always.

Allow me to continue to grow in experience and knowledge.
Allow me to strive for further glory, considering every view
point, and going forward in faith, trusting in your
guidance.

Amen

So glad the babies only woke for feedings.  Sounds like they do better when their grandma and grandpa spend the night(s). ☺️
