Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello my friends!  Today I heard that my sister, Erma, who has Parkensen's and on oxegen is in the hospital with UTI and a slight case of pneumonia with a fever. She is 91.  Also got an email from another sister that our nephew had heart surgery today - heard that was successful, we pray for Erma.  Darla's ultrasound today was great! Both girls are doing well, she even got to see a 3D pic of them both and said they were cute!!  Praise God!!  Monday they get new carpeting in the twin's room and she'll spend that day here with us.  That will be nice.  Wishing you all a great weekend full of God's blessings!

Sometimes we spend our time demanding that the present moment be

different than it is instead of facing the situation and dealing with it.

Lord, strengthen my faith because through You I will have enough power

to overcome any obstacles.

"We, however, will not boast beyond limits, but will keep within the
field that God has assigned to us, to reach out even as far as you.
For we were not overstepping our limits when we reached you; we were
the first to come all the way to you with the good news of Christ.  We
do not boast beyond limits, that is, in the labors of others; but our
hope is that, as your faith increases, our sphere of action among you
may be greatly enlarged, so that we may proclaim the good news in
lands beyond you, without boasting of work already done in someone else's sphere of
action.  'Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'"  ~2 Corinthians
10:13-17

I can try to help others.  I can try not to let a day pass without
reaching out an arm of love to someone.  Each day I can try to do
something to lift another human being out of the sea of discouragement
into which he or she has fallen.  My helping hand is often needed to
raise the helpless to courage, to strength, to faith, to health.  In
my own gratitude, I can turn and help others with the burden that is
pressing too heavily upon them.

I pray that I may be used by God to lighten many burdens.  I pray that
many souls may be helped through my efforts.

U Turns

"Thanks for inviting me to go to church with you next Sunday, Uncle Al."

Tim and his uncle were on their way to Bonny Lake. They had heard the
fishing there was great. "I . . . I don't want to hurt your feelings,"
continued Tim, "but . . . well . . . I'm not sure I want to get into this
religious stuff. Besides, Mom and Dad don't think it's a good idea."
"Oh?" asked Uncle Al in surprise. "I thought you said that your parents
wouldn't mind if you went with me. You sounded quite interested last week.

You even said the Gospel was beginning to make sense to you."

"Yeah, but since then I've done a lot of thinking," Tim said slowly. "I
don't think I feel like getting 'saved' right now. The crowd I hang around
with at school wouldn't understand, and I like being with them. Someday I'll
start going to church, but I think I'll just go on the way I am for a while.
I know I'm not perfect, but I'm not so bad, either."

Tim's uncle drove on silently for a few minutes. "Oh, no!" he exclaimed as
they passed a road sign. "I was so intent on our conversation that I missed
the turnoff! We should have gotten off this road five miles back!"
"Guess we'll have to turn around and go back now, huh?" asked Tim.
But Uncle Al shook his head. "I don't feel like turning around right now,"
he said. "I guess we'll just keep going this way. I kind of like this road,
and the scenery is nice."

Tim looked at his uncle in amazement. "But we have to turn around to get to
Bonny Lake," he protested, "and the longer we keep going this way, the
longer it will take to get back. If we wait too long to turn around, we
might not even get there in time to fish."

Uncle Al smiled at Tim as he slowed down for the next turn. "You're right,"
he said, "and what you said just now is exactly what I've been trying to
tell you about spiritual life . . . that when you're traveling down the
wrong road, the sooner you turn around, the better. If you wait too long,
you might never get to your goal: Heaven."

Food for Thought:

WHY DO WE CRUCIFY HIM AGAIN?
From E-mail Ministry
March 28, 2010

I say something rude
to someone who's lost,
And I've ruinded my witness,
But they will pay the cost.
--So I nail in the nails.

Can anyone see the Lord through me,
Or do they simply see my sins?
Am I living the life Christ wants me to,
Am I living the life of man?
--So I plunge in the spear.

And when I fail to pray,
and my conversations with Him fade,
Does He patiently wait for my call,
Though it causes Him pain?
--And I place the thorns upon His brow.

I lead a life of double standards,
One day good, the next one bad.
Can He quietly stand by
When He sees all I could have had?
--And I ridicule my Lord once again.

For you see,
Each time we turn our backs,
and return to the world of sin,
It is then that you and I,
We crucify Him again.

June 3 - Jesus Calling

I want to be Central in your entire being. When your focus is entirely on Me, My peace displaces fears and worries.  They will encircle you, seeking entrance, so you must stay alert.  Let trust and thankfulness stand guard, turning back fear before it can gain a foothole.  There is no fear in my love, which shines on you continually. Sit quietly in My love-light while I bless you with radiant peace. Turn your whole being to trusting and loving Me.

Prayers for your sister Gloriajean.  Hope everyone has a blessed weekend and continue to celebrate the little miracles that surround us.  As I sit and type this, my cat Faith is keeping a watchful eye and meowing ever so and really chatting with me.  A miracle right here next to me.  Wonder what she is thinking.

Take care and peace,Nancy from MA

Nancy, Thanks for prayers for Erma - I talked to her today on the phone, she is doing better and if she can handle oral antibiotics they can take off the IV's and she can go home.
