Daily Positive Thread for Saturday

Hello my friends!  Got a call today from Lori, she and Jeremy are going ice fishing up north, with her cousin and wife, her dog, Ollie goes along, and also her cousin's two dogs.  We had our cleaning today, remember I let go of our cleaning lady, and we are doing it ourselves and it's working out well.  The money I paid the cleaning lady I'm saving and he can buy a new pair of tennis shoes with it!  That sixty dollars a month for two hours adds up!  Tried making pork chops in the oven tonight with mayo mixed with lemon pepper, and coated with the rest of the coating mixture, corn meal and corn flake crumbs. Turned out great!  Had a taco salad for lunch, easy to make, didn't have taco chips, but that's ok.

After the news and Wheel of Fortune, we'll play cards together.  That's what old people do!

We did forget how to play 500 rummy though, can you help me out there? We used to play it years ago.  We are playing 66 now.  It's an old game.  Probably none of you heard of it.

Here are some inspirations:

Faith is what lifts me to the level of possibility and opens the door
to God's promises. Lord, continue to strengthen my belief and bless
me with unyielding faith.

S C R I P T U R E   F O R   T H E   D A Y

"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens,
and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me;
for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your
souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."  ~Matthew
11:28-30

M E D I T A T I O N   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I can believe that fundamentally all is well.  Good things can happen
to me. I believe that God cares for me and will provide for me.  I
need not try to plan ahead.  I know that the way will unfold, step by
step.  I can leave tomorrow's burden to God, because God is the great
burden-bearer.  God only expects me to carry my one-day's share.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I pray that I may not try to carry the burden of the universe on my
shoulders.  I pray that I may be satisfied to do my share each day.

Prayer for a Generous Spirit

Dearest Lord, teach me to be generous,
teach me to serve you as I should,
to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wounds,
to toil and not to seek for rest,
to labour and ask not for reward,
save that of knowing that I do your most holy will.

St. Ignatius Loyola - 16th century

Free the Souls in Purgatory

Eternal Father,
I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus,
in union with the Masses said throughout the world today,
for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory,
for sinners everywhere,
for sinners in the Universal Church,
those in my own home and within my family.
Amen.

Our Lord told St. Gertrude the Great, that  prayer would release 1,000 souls from Purgatory each time it is said. The prayer was extended to include living sinners which would alleviate the indebtedness accrued to them during their lives.

Save Us, Lord

We implore You, Master,
to be our helper and protector.
Save the afflicted among us;
have mercy on the lowly;
raise up the fallen;
appear to the needy;
heal the ungodly; restore the
wanderers of thy people;
feed the hungry;
ransom our prisoners;
raise up the sick;
comfort the faint-hearted.
Amen.

Bl. Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Philippians 4:13
 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

The road to called Confusion,
Speed bumps called Friends,
Red lights called Enemies,
Caution lights called Family.
You will have flats called Jobs.

But, if you have a spare called Determination,
An engine called Perseverance,
Insurance called Faith,
A driver called Jesus,
you will make it to a place called Success.

Pass it on to ten people whom you want to see blessed.
Be encouraged!! Hold your head up!!

WANNA BE A PUMPKIN?
Author Unknown

A woman was asked by a coworker, "What is it like to be a Christian?"

The coworker replied, "It is like being a pumpkin. God picks you from
 the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. Then he
 cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the
 seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc., and then He carves you a new
smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to
see."

This was passed on to me from another pumpkin. Now, it is your turn to
 pass it to a pumpkin. I liked this enough to send it to all the
pumpkins in my patch.

PUMPKINS & JESUS

 P is for the People that Jesus came to save
 U is for the Unconditional love to each one He gave
 M is for the Message that we should all be sharing
 P is for the Priceless gift God above showed he is caring
 K is for the King of Kings
 I  is for the Insight He brings
 N is for the Nails in His hands
 S is for our Savior who gave His life so that we could stand.

So when you see a pumpkin don't think about some guy named Jack.
Instead remember Jesus Christ, Lord of Lords, who is one day coming
back.

January 29 - Jesus Calling

Keep your focus on Me. I have gifted you with amazing freedom, including the ability to choose the focal point of your mind. Only the crown of My creation has such remarkable capability; this is a sign of being made in My image.

Let the goal of this day be to bring every thought captive to Me. Whenever your mind wanders, lasso those thoughts and bring them into My Presence. In My radiant Light, anxious thoughts shrink and shrivel away. Judgmental thoughts are unmasked as you bask in My unconditional Love. Confused ideas are untangled while you rest in the simplicity of My Peace. I will guard you and keep you in constant Peace, as you focus your mind on Me.

You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
—Psalm 8:5

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
—Genesis 1:26–27

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
—2 Corinthians 10:5

You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.
—Isaiah 26:3 amp

Hello fthunt!  I haven't seen your nic anywhere, so I don't know you. No, I just type the first part - the inspirations I copy and paste here. I do a list daily which these are on, and I just simply move them here.  It's okay that I do this with the higher-ups. I made sure of that first and I've been sending these here for the last 8 or nine years.  Hope you like them.

God bless you!

Sounds like a great dinner Gloria.

I never played 500 Rummy, so I couldn't help you in how to play it.

Why don't you Google it and ask them to give you directions on how to play it.

Blessings to all.
