Among Friends

Hello my friends!  First of all, thank you so much for your posts - and welcome to Zooky!  Would love to have you come more often.  Julie thanks for the graphics and I will, I promise, take it easy, I haven't been out of the apartment, but enjoyed having the Sisters here this afternoon and evening.  I made pork chops and saurkraut, fried the chops, then mixed in the kraut, then took out the bones and let it cook for a few hours on low, it was absolutely delicious and the Sisters loved it, also I made peas and carrots, and mashed potatoes from our garden. Dessert was a chocolate cherry cake, which is always delicious!  The Sisters (Sr. Pat and Phyllis) our dear old friends of about 20 years, just loved our apartment!  After supper we played a couple games of cards! Great fun with great people!!  What a blessing!!!

We only have so much time and so much energy in a day.  To use it grumbling

leaves less time for enjoyment and accomplishment.  Lord, may I focus on looking

for Your blessings in every part of my life.

M E D I T A T I O N   F O R   T H E   D A Y  

I improving our personal lives, we can have unseen help.  We were not
made so that we could see God.  It takes an act of faith, a venture of
belief to realize God's unseen power.  Yet we have much evidence of
God's existence in the strength that many people have received from
their act of faith, their venture of belief.  God's unseen help is
effective here and now.  This has been proved in thousands of changed
lives.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y 

I pray that I may make the great venture of belief.  I pray that my
vision may not be blocked by intellectual pride.

A PRAYER TO OUR LADY FOR HEALING

 

Mary Immaculate, you have given yourself to us as our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. You have asked us to pray with confidence, and we will receive great graces. We know your compassion, because you saw your Son suffer and die for us. In your union with his suffering you became the mother of us all.

Mary, my mother, teach me to understand my suffering as you do and to endure it in union with the suffering of Jesus. In your motherly love, calm my fears and increase my trust in God's loving care.

According to God's plan, obtain for me the healing I need. Intercede with your Son that I may have the strength I need to work for God's glory and the salvation of the world. Amen

Live

As On Our Way We Go

There isn’t much that I can do, but I can share my bread with you, and sometimes a sorrow too — as on our way we go.

There isn’t much that I can do, but I can sit an hour with you, and I can share a joke with you, and sometimes share reverses, too — as on our way we go.

There isn’t much that I can do, but I can share my flowers with you, and I can share my books with you and sometimes share your burdens, too — as on our way we go.

There isn’t much that I can do, but I can share my songs with you, and I can share my mirth with you, and sometimes come and laugh with you — as on our way we go.

There isn’t much that I can do, but I can share my hopes with you, and I can share my fears with you, and sometimes shed some tears with you — as on our way we go.

Lord, Teach Me The Art Of Patience

Lord, teach me the art of patience whilst I am well, and give me the use of it when I am sick. In that day either lighten my burden or strengthen my back. Make me, who so often in my health have discovered my weakness presuming on my own strength, to be strong in my sickness when I solely rely on thy assistance.

November 1 - Jesus Calling

Do not be discouraged by the difficulty of keeping your focus on Me. I know that your heart’s desire is to be aware of My Presence continually. This is a lofty goal; you aim toward it but never fully achieve it in this life. Don’t let feelings of failure weigh you down. Instead, try to see yourself as I see you. First of all, I am delighted by your deep desire to walk closely with Me through your life. I am pleased each time you initiate communication with Me. In addition, I notice the progress you have made since you first resolved to live in My Presence.

When you realize that your mind has wandered away from Me, don’t be alarmed or surprised. You live in a world that has been rigged to distract you. Each time you plow your way through the massive distractions to communicate with Me, you achieve a victory. Rejoice in these tiny triumphs, and they will increasingly light up your days.

Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. —Romans 8:33–34

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. —Hebrews 4:14–16
