Daily Positive Thread for Monday, July 20, 2015

Greetings my friends!  Today at Mass was a great blessing when Father Mark had everyone close our eyes and he mentioned we should just concentrate on Jesus and tell Him we love Him and be quiet in His presence, he did this after a great Homily - said he's planning on doing something a bit different, it was great and very powerful.  Something we can do wherever we are. Just concentrate upon Jesus, and let Him love us, let Him guide us and answer us.  It was a restful day today.  Wishing you all God's blessings!

There is always something to thank God for.  Lord, may my attitude of
gratitude last a lifetime.

"O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love
endures forever."  ~Psalm 106:1

Gratitude to God is the theme of Thanksgiving Day.  The pilgrims
gathered to give thanks to God for their harvest which was pitifully
small.  When we look around at all the things we have today, how can we
help being grateful to God?  Our families, our homes, our friends; all
these things are free gifts of God to us.  "But for the grace of God,"
we would not have them. God gives us this day too, to rest and to give
thanks.

I pray that I may be very grateful today.  I pray that I may not forget
where I might be but for the grace of God.

Never Again
One Sunday I was entertained in a farm home of a member of a rural
church. The intelligence and unusually good behavior of the only
child in the home, a little four-year-old boy, impressed me.

Then I discovered one reason for the child's charm. The mother was
at the kitchen sink, washing the intricate parts of the cream
separator when the little boy came to her with a magazine.

"Mother," he asked, "what is this man in the picture doing?"

To my surprise she dried her hands, sat down on a chair, and taking
the boy in her lap, she spent the next few minutes answering his questions.

After the child had left, I commented on her having interrupted her
chores to answer the boy's question, saying, "Most mothers wouldn't have"

"I expect to be washing cream separators for the rest of my life,"
she told me, "but never again will my son ask me that question."

Send Your Angel to Holy Mass

O holy angel at my side,
Go to the church for me,
Kneel in my place at Holy Mass
Where I desire to be.

At offertory, in my stead,
Take all I am and own,
And place it as a sacrifice
Upon the altar throne.

At holy consecration's bell,
Adore with seraph's love
My Jesus hidden in the Host
Come down from heav'n above.

Then pray for those I dearly love,
And those who cause me grief,
That Jesus' Blood may cleanse all hearts
And suffering souls relieve.

And when the priest Communion takes,
Oh, bring my Lord to me,
That His sweet Heart may rest on mine
And I His temple be.

Pray that this Sacrifce Divine
may mankind's sins efface;
Then bring me Jesus's blessing home-
The pledge of every grace.

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit, speak through me,
so all lost souls can plainly see,
not my will, but God's I seek.
Your word's are strong,
where mine are weak.

Holy Spirit, teach me love,
so those that hate can climb above.
I know that love, it is the key,
so this I pray, show love through me.

Holy Spirit, help me give,
so those without, through You may live.
To give to those who are in need,
to share my goods, but not in greed.

Holy Spirit, make me wise,
feed me knowledge, my heart it cries.
To understand what I don't know,
please make me wise, so I may grow.

Holy Spirit, help me trust,
to lean on You, in times I must.
My faith will grow each time I do.
Please build my trust, my trust in you.

Holy Spirit, take my pride,
humble me and be my guide.
First comes pride, and then the fall.
Let me pride in You, or none at all.

Holy Spirit, make me bold,
to spread the news, the scriptures hold.
To speak out loud, to those that hear,
our God is love, they must not fear.

Holy Spirit, this I pray,
fill me up this very day.
To have the power, with You be strong,
to make things right, where they are wrong.

Holy Spirit, let me shine,
with Jesus Christ, this life of mine,
that other souls will soon find out,
what serving God is all about.

July 19 - Jesus Calling

Bring me all your feelings, even the ones you wish you didn’t have. Fear and anxiety still plague you. Feelings per se are not sinful, but they can be temptations to sin. Blazing missiles of fear fly at you day and night; these attacks from the evil one come at you relentlessly. Use your shield of faith to extinguish those flaming arrows. Affirm your trust in Me, regardless of how you feel. If you persist, your feelings will eventually fall in line with your faith.

Do not hide from your fear or pretend it isn’t there. Anxiety that you hide in the recesses of your heart will give birth to fear of fear: a monstrous stepchild. Bring your anxieties out into the Light of My Presence, where we can deal with them together. Concentrate on trusting Me, and fearfulness will gradually lose its foothold within you.

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
—Ephesians 6:16

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
—1 John 1:5–7

“Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.”
—Isaiah 12:2

Do you have to reduce the price again.

Just closing your eyes and thinking of Jesus sounds like a good thing.

Blessings to all.

A song came to mind after reading your positve thread today, gloriajean.

      Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.

Oh, gloriajean....I was excited to read that Darla was moving back.  I know how I felt when my daughter moved back after being away a few years.  You will enjoy many good times together, I'm sure.  So happy for you both and the rest of the family, too!

Jubilant - so nice to see you here! Do come again!

I love that song alot!! It's so beautiful!

Yes! we are excited that Darla is coming home. Then both my girls will be close again!  Lori is only 5 miles away too.  Please help us pray that Darla and Greg have sufficiant help for packing and moving. Our neighbor next door just told us of 1-800-PacRak that they used coming from Texas to here in MN. They do all the packing and moving. And cheaper than U-Haul.

Thanks in advance for your prayers.
