Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Hello my friends!  His day off, we went to Adoration, then did some errands, and we bottled our raspberry wine - from our raspberries.  So we have our cherries made into wine and our raspberries.  Great accomplishment!  Getting plans made for when my sister, Sister LaDonna, comes for a visit in a couple weeks, we'll all get together for two of my sister's birthday - One will be 91 and the other 89 - both born on March 10th.

Nice to see Doxie on the thread. Of course we pray for her for all her intentions.  Come again anytime, Doxie!

Not one day passes without receiving wonderful blessings from our loving
and generous God.  Lord, may I forget the irritations that distract me from
Your happiness.

"Seek the LORD while he may be found, call upon him while he is near."
~Isaiah 55:6

M E D I T A T I O N   F O R   T H E   D A Y

God finds, amid the crowd, a few people who follow, just to be near God,
just to dwell in God's presence.  A longing in the eternal heart may be
satisfied by these few people.  I can let God know that I seek not just to
dwell in God's presence, to be near God, not so much for teaching or a
message, as just for God.  It can be that the longing of the human heart to
be loved for itself is something caught from the great divine heart.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I pray that I may have a listening ear, so that God may speak to me. I pray
that I may have a waiting heart, so that God may come to me.

Litany in Honor of St. Peregrine

Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.
God, the Father of Heaven,
have mercy on us.
God, the Son, Redeemer of the world,
have mercy on us.
God, the Holy Spirit,
have mercy on us.
Holy Trinity, one God,
have mercy on us.

Holy Mary , Mother of God,
pray for us.
Mother of Sorrows, etc.
Health of the sick,
Comforter of the afflicted,
Help of Christians,

St. Peregrine,
pray for us.
Converted by the prayers of St. Philip, etc.
Afflicted with a cancerous growth,
Completely cured by the outstretched hand of Jesus Crucified,
Who performed many miracles in thy lifetime,
Who multiplied food and drink,
Who cured the sick by the power of the Name of Jesus,
Who converted hardened sinners by prayer and fasting,
Who receive every favor thou asked of God,
Most confident in prayer,
Most austere in penance,
Most patient in suffering,
Most humble in the holy priesthood,
Most zealous for souls,
Most kind toward the afflicted,
Most devoted to the Passion of Jesus and the Sorrows of Mary,
Victim with Jesus and Mary for the salvation of souls,
Wonder-worker for the sick and diseased,
Hope of incurable cases,
Universal patron of all who suffer from cancer,
Beloved Patron of Spain,
Glory of the Order of the Servants of Mary,

Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world,
spare us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world,
graciously hear us O Lord.
Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world,
have mercy on us.

V. Pray for us, O glorious St. Peregrine,
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray.

O God, be gracious and hear the prayers which we present to Thee in honor of St. Peregrine, Thy beloved servant. May we who do not rely on our own merits receive help in our needs through the intercession of him whose life was so pleasing to Thee. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Offering of Life to Our Lady

Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ
 and also my Mother,

I offer to you all that I have:
 my body,
 my intelligence,
 my heart,
 my will,

so that you help make my life
 a worthy offering to Christ.

You, who saw Jesus
 prepare Himself for his mission
  and channel all his energies
   to do his Father's will,

grant that I have
 the vigor of his body,
 the feelings of his heart,
the brilliance of his intellect, and
 the determination of his will
so that my life, like His, could be
given to the service of others.

May nothing which touches other humans
 leave me indifferent.
  May I,
in all situations and in every endeavor,
seek to develop my potential to the utmost,
so that I will be more prepared,
    tomorrow
to make better known and better loved
Him who alone can give meaning
   to my life,
just as he gave meaning to yours,
Jesus Christ, your son, and my brother.

     Amen.

[Translated from Fernand Lelotte, S.J., Rabboni (Paris: Casterman, 1955) by Dr. Chau T. Phan, Rider University.]

A minister told his congregation, “Next week I plan to preach about the sin of lying. To help you understand my sermon, I want you all to read Mark 17.”

The following Sunday, as he prepared to deliver his sermon, the minister asked for a show of hands. He wanted to know how many had read Mark 17. Every hand went up.

The minister smiled and said, “Mark has only sixteen chapters. I will now proceed with my sermon on the sin of lying.”

Just a Little Bit of Love

Just a little bit of love,
How bright it made the day
The burdened heart was lighter
And sweeter seemed the day.

Just a little bit of love,
And gloomy thoughts were gone,
The rosy hues of morning
With each reflection shone.

Just a little bit of love,
The trembling hand was strong
And nerved to win the battle,
Although the fight was long.

Just a little bit of love,
And wondrous is its power
To strengthen, bless and gladden
In every needy hour.

DON'T LOOK BACK
Author Unknown

As you travel through life there are always those times
When decisions just have to be made,
When the choices are hard, and solutions seem scarce,
And the rain seems to soak your parade.

There are some situations where all you can do
Is simply let go and move on,
Gather your courage and choose a direction
That carries you toward a new dawn.

So pack up your troubles and take a step forward -
The process of change can be tough,
But think about all the excitement ahead
If you can be stalwart enough!

There might be adventures you never imagined
Just waiting around the next bend,
And wishes and dreams just about to come true
In ways you can't yet comprehend!

Perhaps you'll find friendships that spring from new things
As you challenge your status quo,
And learn there are so many options in life,
And so many ways you can grow!

Perhaps you'll go places you never expected
And see things that you've never seen,
Or travel to fabulous, faraway worlds
 And wonderful spots in between!

Perhaps you'll find warmth and affection and caring
 And somebody special who's there
To help you stay centered and listen with interest
To stories and feelings you share.

Perhaps you'll find comfort in knowing your friends
Are supportive of all that you do,
And believe that whatever decisions you make,
They'll be the right choices for you.

So keep putting one foot in front of the other,
And taking your life day by day...
There's a brighter tomorrow that's just down the road -
Don't look back! You're not going that way!

February 4 - Jesus Calling

Bring Me your weakness, and receive My Peace. Accept yourself and your circumstances just as they are, remembering that I am sovereign over everything. Do not wear yourself out with analyzing and planning. Instead, let thankfulness and trust be your guides through this day; they will keep you close to Me. As you live in the radiance of My Presence, My Peace shines upon you. You will cease to notice how weak or strong you feel, because you will be focusing on Me. The best way to get through this day is step by step with Me. Continue this intimate journey, trusting that the path you are following is headed for heaven.

The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.
—Psalm 29:11

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
—Numbers 6:24–26

But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
—Psalm 13:5

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Friday

Good morning everyone.

Just when we got rid of most of the snow we had two weeks ago, it's

snowing again this morning. It's that wet snow, it is supposed to be over by

10AM and not amount to much.

blessings to all.

Hello friends.  A special hello to Doxie.  I hope you are feeling better Doxie.  I am feeling better.  Someone must be praying for me.  God is so good.  I plan to go to church Sunday God willing.  It is cold here, but warming up.  So far this winter has been mild.  Let's keep it that way.  I am going to drink a cup of coffee and get into the Bible.  I am behind in my reading.  I pray for the babies that they continue to do well with the Lord's help.  Praise God!.

Have a good day today everyone.
