the new types of led headlights especially on pickup trucks or a big suv    they sit higher up so the lights coming at you are much brighter than the old incandescent lights because oh the vehicle heights

Also too many drunks on the streets at night.  They concern me more than anything else.

Re: DRIVING AT NIGHT

Out of choice I no longer drive anytime.  Moved to a city that has excellent public transporation and is very walkable.  Do not miss a car at all.

Re: DRIVING AT NIGHT

I don't mind driving but since DH started working from home in 2020 we seem to have started doing errands together instead of me doing them on my own while he was at his office. When we go anywhere he always does the driving.  I would drive if I had to but I wouldn't pick up and go anywhere alone at night unless it was just a quick trip to town and back.

I haven't driven at night in years.  Not sure why.  We are rural and have a ton of dear that are determined to be in the road.

I am the queen of watching ID, Dateline etc.  I am not afraid because of those shows.

When my DH was in the hospital (2016) one time it was January, colder than a witch's thorax.  I would go in the am and stay all day.  For some reason I stayed really late and left at 1 or 2 in the morning.  It was an hour away from home.  The parking garage was across the street.  Once you were outside you had to buzz to get back in.  I hadn't had my hip replacement yet.  I had my cane, purse, tote loaded w/stuff I took to the hospital and a screaming hip.  As I'm schlepping to the parking garage it hit me that no one, but no one, was around.  It was a tad creepy in the parking garage but I wasn't fearful.

I hate driving at night. Even having my cataracts fixed didn't help much with the glare.

Usually, a friend or someone else drives if I go out at night. I feel safer and they don't mind driving.

I'm happy when daylight lasts into the evenings in case I want to do something.

I didn't realize how many others did not drive at night either. I hit a nerve with a lot you.

I feel like I gave up a tiny bit of independence. I don't live a big city with the cabs and lots of public transportation either. That frightens me to think about if DH isn't here.
