Re: DO You Remember This?????

My Aunt had one. I was fascinated by the whole process. Whenever we went to visit, it was something to be checked out. And I bet it was still working just fine when her house was sold.

Probably did a better job cleaning clothes, than my current washer.

@Robertak OH my gosh! My mom had one, I'm 72, and my younger sister once got her arm caught in the wringer!

We had a wringer washer when I was a little girl. I was helping my mom put the clothes into the wringer and my arm went into the wringer with the clothes. I still have the scar. The wringer had a separate power source and it broke. 😳

I am 66 and we never had that kind.  We had a top loader but no dryer.  Clothesline in the yard.

Re: DO You Remember This?????

I'm 65 and I remember wringer washers. My Grandmother had one. Even after she got a regular washer and dryer, she still kept her wringer. She still had it when I was in high school in the 70's. She kept it until my Grandfather couldn't fix it anymore. And he could fix anything. And I remember washboards too. Grandma had a couple of those. Ah, memories!

I am 59, and this was the only wash machine my Mom ever had.
