I'm 73 and my Mom never had one like that. My MIL did I think.

Yes, my grandma had one on her front porch. And my husbands granny had one when we started dating.
What I really remember most is how stiff those clothes would be from going thru the wringer.

yes my Mom told us many times how my brother put his arm thru the wringer somehow

Yes! Moms worried about kids getting fingers in the wringer. If you had one you hung onto it since there were no machines made during World War II.

When I was quite young I used to love visiting the neighbor who let me help her put her laundry through the wringer!

Sixty year olds never saw a ringer washer. Two nieces are 60 and 62 and their mother got a microwave when they were young. Top loads and dryers were standard.

I remember that washing machine.. My mother had one. I am 69,soon to be 70.
