I'm more care free than regimented. I work all day so when I get home I generally walk my dog, weather permitting, and then cook dinner, clean up and watch tv. But if we have something going on after work, then so be it.
On the weekends I wake up when I get up which is usually fairly early. I always do laundry and grocery shop but which weekend day and what time I go depends on when I feel like it and what else I have going on.

Because I am a Type 1 diabetic for fifty years, I need to be regimented when it comes to food, testing my blood sugars and keeping my weight down. Beyond that, I despise being regimented. I have always wanted to be able to fly by the seat of my pants. I envy creative people who can change their itinerary dependent upon their mood.

I like routine....I like things to stay the same....do not like changes in my day to day life. Probably not the best way to live....but it is how I feel. I do not like major changes. I eat at the same time...go to bed at the same time...do ,it's everything the same day in and day out. If I do anything outside my routine, I need time to plan for it, so it fits in my day without upset.
I am not a good person for surprises of any kind....😄

I generally like a routine life style. I make a list of things I want to do each day and enjoy the feeling when I can check each item off. When I worked I lived by a schedule. I had things I always did before work and then things I did each evening.
I still like to have my days scheduled but since my husband and I are retired we will often decide to do something on the spur of the moment and I'm fine with just letting things go for a day.

While raising kids their schedules (clubs, sports etc) were my schedule.
When I went to work outside the home my boss and the clients needs determined what what schedule was.
Now that I'm retired, my time is mine. If I don't want to mop the floor today, I'll do it tomorrow.

I do well with or without a schedule.
I do prefer to work and need to see color and work with it.
My choices are work or have a basement full of wreaths from crafts. I enjoy what I do much more.
I have never been a homebody.

Military dad taught me to keep an organization list. I'm the only one who follows it in my home. I also revise budget twice a year. That being said -- I'm beginning to love mental health days to the point where I'm retiring in February. It will be a transition for me so I'll have to make more lists. but I'm ready to relax a bit.

When I was "punching the clock" 5 days/nights a week, along with my other obligations, and involved in hobbies that required lots of my time? Yes, all my hours had to be planned out in advance. If not, it would have been he!! trying to do all of them as best I could. I am not one that settles for mediocrity when I am in charge of certain things, by choice.
Working every one of the 3 shifts of my job, required all kinds of adjustments to how, and when, things like sleep were necessary to involve. When one works a Midnight(graveyard)shift, almost everything you do is assbackwards. Sleep during the day(at times no sleep) and work while others are sleeping. Obviously planning ahead completely changes.
When I retired the only regimented things I did involved things like doctors and running my Adult Hockey League. Other than a few meetings or other occasional things, it did not require my time to be specifically scheduled.
Now without having my hockey league obligations, my only plans are monthly hospital visits, and what days and times I am able to ice skate. That is governed by the ice rink, not by me.
While much of my life, even preteen, I had to have a specific schedule, for going to school and getting to and from my jobs and school. That many times depended on streetcar and bus schedules.
So no, I am no longer regimented, and I can honestly say at this point, I do not plan on going back to them. I am happy with just being happy.
