As most of you know, my grandson now stays with me thru the week so he can walk to college(I live across the street,so very handy) Anyway,I got a text from my cable company saying I was almost to my limit on data,and if I go over it is a extra 10.00on my bill.Because of him doing his classes online when he doesn't attend class, this is using up data.I didn't even consider this.Maybe I need to get a third job,kidding not kidding.If I mentioned this to my daughter,and said I'd rather get a little money towards this instead of groceries it would cause ww3.I love my grandson,but I'm jot made of money.Sorry,just venting

Well, you are doing your grandson a big favor, so your daughter should be willing to chip in -

I don't see why she would be unhappy to help you out?

If he had to drive to school, or rent an apartment or room nearby, it would certainly cost more than staying with you, I would assume?

I am not savy in this department but if he is using your internet in your home, why would that be using your data up...I went over my data one month but I had not connected with the internet at the office, it was my error.

You must have gotten the issue with your grandson worked out with your daughter, I thougt he was not longer staying with you.

Curious  about why your grandson does not have a part-time job and/or work in the summer so he can contribute at least a small amount toward his care and upkeep?

An added thought: Your post says that you are "just venting," which makes me wonder if you are just accepting the financial situation, a hardship for you,  or if you want to change it?

@Sooner Very great question.Hes quite capable of getting a job.He does not drive either,nor does he care if he does.

@Luvsmyfam  Maybe you could talk to your cable representative about adding him on your plan or lowering the price because he's a student. Maybe a Sr. Discount. 
  If not I'd ask your daughter. She may not realize it's a problem.
