Re: DAUGHTERS AND DAUGHTERS IN LAW

I think many of us here could be friends😊

Re: DAUGHTERS AND DAUGHTERS IN LAW

When my son got married DH and made made a point to be available if they needed or wanted advise, otherwise we kept quiet.

We were the same with our DD who is single.

Both my kids are intelligent, level-headed and aren't reckless. I trust their judgment to make their own decisions in life.  They know I am here if needed. We can discuss things but I do not butt in their lives. They extend the same courtesy to me.

I don't like being told what/what not to do so I don't do it to them.

Re: DAUGHTERS AND DAUGHTERS IN LAW

I always felt bad for my best friend with the DIL situation.  She tried so hard with that relationship, and while progress was made thru the years, there was still a gap there when she died without warning 2 years ago.
