@eadu4   Thanks for all the information...we'll check it out.  I think once we make this change, like you, we will wonder why we didn't do it sooner and will be very satisfied.  Appreciate your post.

@CherryHugs   Yes, we have experienced the same awful service and increases with Spectrum.  That is why we are on this journey.  We have been unhappy since Spectrum took over, they do not care about customer relations. We are paying over 2500/year.   I'm looking forward to turning in the boxes.  Hope you find a better solution, please post if you do.  We are looking forward to our new adventure with streaming.

@RedTop   Thanks for your share.  We are keeping the internet service with Spectrum which is 75/month....plus we are considering adding a streaming service (not sure which yet) which will be about 35/month.

We have no limit on internet with Spectrum so we have never paid extra for internet usage (although $2500 a year is no bargain and why we are looking at streaming).  We are hoping to cut our bill over half.

Living out in the country as I choose, BB is almost non

existent, what we have is purchased from ATT Uverse, that coupled with dependence on DISH make cord-cutting a challenging proposition.

My sister has Spectrum cable. She pays a little more than you do , and has 200 Mbps of internet speed. Spectrum cable will not have a data cap until sometime in 2023.ThIs was a part of the merger agreement.

I have Comcast Cable and pay about $300 a month. My service in a large city is fast, reliable  runs at 400 Mbps.

I stream all my content using an app on a tablet or a smartphone.

I subscribe to a few streaming services. You may

Iike Hulu Live TV, and Paramount Plus.

You may want to buy a TV package with cloud DVR storage.

Dslreports.com and CNET are two good resources.

@qvcfreak I watch Midsomer Murders on PBS, they show them Thursdays but half one week & then the other half the next week, come to find out Tubi shows the whole episode so I can watch the rest there.  Like you said they do have ads but it's not too bad.

I highly recommend acorntv for this show and so many other British tv shows, old, new, and originals. It's $4.99 per month, with a free trial. If you go to acorntv dot com, you can get a good idea of what they have. My favorite streaming service!

If you don't already have one, get a Roku or Apple device. Then you can decide which free or paid streaming services to include, such as Acorntv, or Netflix, or whatever. And build from there.

What is BB?

Apologies if you're ahead of me already as I'm not familiar with how Dish offers services.

For us it doesn't make sense to cut the cord.  We watch so little tv any more and haven't seen a movie we were interested in I don't know how many years.

The convenience of the cable bundle with internet and phone is satisfactory and neither of want to look around at streaming services at this point.  We have Amazon Prime, Apple Tv, and sometimes Netflix and that's more than we need.

I guess we aren't alone. I don't know!  Woman Very Happy

Hi back!

I'm not a fan of AI either. I have no interest in something like Alexa. But the Roku device is not at all like that. It's just a tiny plug-in to access WiFi streaming services, some of which are subscription and some are even free.
