On the info from these forums, awhile ago I bought honey crisps from Trader Joe's.  I thought they were awful---sour almost like Granny Smith's.  But for the first time in years, I made applesauce out of them.  Worked out fine.  Wouldn't buy them again though.  Will stick to Fuji and Gala and if availalbe, Macintosh.

I bought just one to try it since they were 2.49 a pound. Seemed kind of expensive to me. But it was very good and I will treat myself to a few more.

Oh and found them at Fred Meyer.

Found them at Costco. They are delicious. A bit more tart than Honey Crisp, very juicy and firm. A Honey Crisp made even better.

Cosmic Crisp

It's a cross between Enterprise and Honeycrisp.

I'm always looking for new apples to try.  I recently discovered the SugarBee.  It's fabulous!

Honeycrisps lose their sweetness this time of year.  If you can find a SugarBee, try it!  They keep sweet. Woman Very Happy

@just bee, before we tried the Cosmic Crisps, we starting buying the SugarBee. They are the sweetest apple we'd ever tasted. They are sweeter than Honeycrisps, which I also love.

If a person likes a little tartness in your apple, though, I'm not sure that she would love the SugarBee.

Had to run to Costco today and the Cosmic Crisps were there.  I picked up a pack.

Haven't tasted one yet, but I'm looking forward to it!

@KingstonsMom - I haven't seen them by me either. However I am going to Publix tomorrow and will check there then run over to Kroger and see if they have these apples.

I bought some Cosmic Crisps today at Fry's (Kroger owned AZ grocery store), but haven't sampled one yet.
