Found them at Costco. They are delicious. A bit more tart than Honey Crisp, very juicy and firm. A Honey Crisp made even better.

@Meowingkitty

I've read about these and DH and I are anxious to try them, but haven't seen them in our area of the south yet.

I believe they originated in Washington state didn't they? We don't have Costco here.

@butterfly123

Thanks for that list!

Out of all of those listed, Kroger may be our best bet.

We do have Sam's and Whole Foods, but we're in coastal GA, so ours may not have these.

Stopping at Kroger tomorrow, thanks to you!

They are good. I think I have to get used to the difference between them and Honeycrisps (which are primarily sweet).

@KingstonsMom

I hope you find the cosmic crisp. If I remember correctly this is the first year the apples are available. Limited supply vs consumer demand.

I hope to find one to try 😊

On the info from these forums, awhile ago I bought honey crisps from Trader Joe's.  I thought they were awful---sour almost like Granny Smith's.  But for the first time in years, I made applesauce out of them.  Worked out fine.  Wouldn't buy them again though.  Will stick to Fuji and Gala and if availalbe, Macintosh.

@kaydee50, it might be that you got a bad apple -- pun intended. Generally, they are not sour at all, just the opposite.

I bought one at Metropolitan Market.  It was good but my favorite apple is still Pink Lady.
