I took 11 purses in and 1 pair of jeans. Several Brighton, a couple of Frye, 2 Bed Stu and 2 Hammit bags to see about selling them. They want to give me a whopping $80 for 11 bags and 1 pair of jeans. Not even 8 bucks a bag. The second shop I took them to was about the same. What a joke. Took them back home and I'll donate them to my local animal shelter where they can sell them and use the money for the animals. At least I can take them off my taxes. I know I could sell them on EBay but it's a huge hassle and people want things dirt cheap and it's just not worth the time and aggravation.

I've been burned by taking my items to a consignment store in the past. They offered me 40 per cent of what they priced it at. It went down even further after a few weeks.
Never again.

FYI..............used clothes, etc., overkill today. No one wants it unless:
Too many clothes get donated. Throw away clothes today.

It is what it is. They have to make a profit, and you choose either something or nothing.

Sorry but those brands are not designer and you're lucky they offered you anything.

I had the same experience when I took about 10-12 Dooney bags that some had been gently used a couple of times and others had never been used and still had tags on them along with receipts for authenticity.
I also got some ridiculous offers, so I donated them to our animal rescue for their yearly silent auction and they were very appreciative!

This store sells Dooney, Old Navy, Coach, Columbia, and a ton of Forever 21. So what I took in was on par for what they were selling. I wasn't asking for a fortune but sheesh. I'm happy to donate them because I'll be making kitties and puppies have a better life.

How wonderful you donate!!
I'd also rather take the 'used value' in full off my taxes, than let it go for such low prices. I find ebay etc to be a big pain that I don't have time for.....shipping is always an issue.
I need to contact our Animal rescues to see if they accept items.
I donate towels and blankets to them....but didn't know of any having events where other items could be given.
Thanks !!

Do check in your area!
Most rescues have fundraising events and they're so appreciative!
