Re: Commercials

[ Edited ]

That ad where the guy meets the girl on a blind date for the movies ( It's another skin rash ad.....if you think about it...it's like most of the US is suffering from some kind of skin rash from the number of ads we see all day!!!...probably cause of overpopulation and people being squeezed together like factory raised chickens.....diseases spread...

....(.or it COULD be from only bathing once a week while depending on LUME to keep your pits and crack fresh smelling....not by any means clean, but "fresh"!!!!)

Anyway....while waiting for his "date" he sees an old woman in the crowd and he makes a face when he notices her....

In the beginning of that ad the old woman is in a red dress with round specs...

At the end, she's in a dark outfit, in different shaped specs outside the theatre as the couple embraces and leaves separately.

He notices her in each scenario....

I think that old woman represents his rash...red and obvious in the beginining ( before taking the rash medication) and almost disappearing into the crowd at the end in her dark outfit ( as his rash will mostly disappear when he takes the rash meds....)

Don't know if this has been mentioned here before...but notice it next time you see the ad....IT plays ALL the time...might even be on YT.

I have no idea WHICH rash product it's hawking.

I also like the doctor app ad where a  squiggly QR code appears in the woman's rash. THAT Is clever!!!!

@Othereeeen

I'm impressed.

I've seen that ad many times and completely  missed the symbolism. Now I wonder what else I'm missing.

I like the T mobile one with that long haired guy ( Momoa) who does the back flip on the bench while the other two guys look on in amazement ...thier facial expressions crack me up!!

Also the new Allstate ad where Dean Winters is the rusty boat hitch....

"Way before we get to the lake....we'll launch your boat...." ( paraphraseing) and we see the boat pass the truck hauling it on the Interstate after it breaks free......)...

@Othereeeen

That Dean Winters boat hitch commercial is so great! "I'm a rusty old boat hitch and I'm barely hanging on!"

I love that Flashdance inspired T Mobile commercial with Jason Momoa Smiley Very Happy!  Flashdance is my all time favorite movie- I've watched it at least 20 times Smiley Happy

Attention Jason Momoa Fans Smiley Very Happy Heart, I recommend a 2003 Lifetime movie called Tempted starring Virginia Madsen and Jason Momoa.  An unhappy woman who is married with two children travels to Hawaii to attend her nanny's funeral and a chance encounter with young, hunky Jason Momoa leads to a steamy affair.  The full film can be found on youtube by typing:

So if you love "Flashdance".... you SURELY loved that Gain  "Gainiac" commercial ....where the guy in the laundromat is in the chair and the bucket of clothes fall on him, like the scene from Flashdance where the bucket of water falls on the dancer?!?!?!?

The commercial is on You Tube....full title :" Gain Gainiac Commercial"

I think it's hilarious and clever....perfect parody...ESPECIALLY that chair scene!!!

(Parody of the song "Maniac" from the movie "Flashdance"1983)

FORTY ONE YEARS ago for that moive....WHERE does the time go?!?!??!

@Othereeeen  I absolutely loved that Gainiac Flashdance inspired commercial when I first watched it on tv Smiley LOL.  My favorite part was when the guy did the famous stretched out pose on the chair and the clothes fell on him in the laundromat to mimic that Flashdance strip club water bucket scene Smiley Very Happy!  Flashdance is such a great movie- its fun, exciting and inspiring! I love  how she learns to believe in herself along the way- plus, she gets to date super sexy Michael Nouri in that film! Smiley Very HappyHeart  Go Flashdance!

Anyone else tired of that commercial where the obnoxious guy tells his date that she's "Shorter than he thought she'd be," then goes on to show her his "shirt-less pics" taken at the gym.

He then confesses to "leaving his wallet at home" and refers to her as a "Sugar Mama."

I love it that she uses her remote to start her vehicle, says "Excuse Me," and leaves him sitting there looking stupid. Smiley Wink

No, I was referring to all of them.  I think I must be overly sensitive.

On Jeopardy, the question was asked what crime is committed on

Allstate commercials; the answer was physical assault.  I suppose

our society has become accustomed to violence...Sad.

@Daffney

We've always used some sort of violence to get a laugh.  Think of Larel and Hardy and the Three Stooges.

I don't watch commercials. I flip over to QVC when one is on.
