We'll share some of our typical crazy Colorado weather, different seasons within one week. Mid 70's part of the week, high 20's to low 30's Sunday & Monday.

Autumn in the desert must be so "beige."    Oh wait, there is the painted desert.

@RoughDraft   Here's a pic taken yesterday of the Rio Grande at Albuquerque.  The amount of water in it is pathetic but the cottonwoods along the river are glorious right now, far from beige.  We also have a big round shrub here call "Chimesa".  It gets 9-10ft in diameter and is a solid ball of yellow in the high desert.  Lots of wild purple asters too and golden Aspen at higher elevations.

Still waiting on Autumn here in the South, we still experiencing Hurricane weather on the Gulf Coast, Hurricane Zeta to hit LA, MS, & AL!

I admit I didn't think there were many autumn colors in the desert -- your photo and description paint a gorgeous picture.   Most of my life I've been in the eastern and southeastern part of the country, and with the changes of seasons we tend to have an abundance of brilliant color in the fall.
