I do not know what to give my two married children for Christmas this year.  I always give them a couples present such as tickets to an event, etc.  well, because of Covid this year, that idea is out.  My son and daughter and their spouses are very successful and do not "need" anything, but i love giving them something special that tells them how much I love them.  Any ideas?

Re: Christmas Presents Advice

My daughter and daughter-in-law were born in the 70s.  One year for Christmas I got on ebay and ordered a vintage Strawberry Shortcake for one and a Rainbow Brite doll for the other....those were childhood favorites they had when they were little.  They LOVED them!

My 40-something son still likes toys, and has always loved Star Wars.  I am giving him a plush Baby Yoda.

@Calcgirl  I run into the same problem. If you are not aware of a site glassybaby dot com may I suggest you check it out. Hand blown unique tea candle holders with names and special messages. I gift them frequently (even to myself) and are always well received even by our successful kids that have everything. They are not inexpensive but sometimes it takes me awhile to choose the perfect one. You may be aware of them, if not hope you enjoy looking at them.

How about passing on a family heirloom to each family.

It could be a piece of furniture they admire, an old family Bible, Aunt Ginney's tea set, or something similar.

How about making a recipe album of family favorite recipes from previous generations. Hand written, and noting who the recipe was from, and maybe some brief story about that person.

Maybe a photo album of their ancestors and written information about each picture/person's vital statistics (name, dob/dod, how they are related to your family, what they did, where they were from, etc.

Most of us do not "need" anything, so it is always the thought that counts!  Not sure of your budget, so here are some ideas.

Since we are all in the house and more or less in quarantine again this Winter, one idea might be a nice big gift basket full of food treats that they can share and enjoy. Harry and David has a nice selection that could include fruits.

I also order from Swiss Colony every year for distant family members.

A gift certificate to Omaha Steaks could allow them to pick out some favorite meats.

Of course the Q has a lot of holiday food gifts, such as fancy cakes or chocolates (Russell Stover or Savannah's)  or the Landies Candies chocolate pretzels.

I have also gifted the Berkshire blankets and the Dennis Basso faux fur blankets to many family members!!

Many of us do not need anything, but always enjoy receiving a favorite perfume or a gift card to a favorite store.

Re: Christmas Presents Advice

I happened across the Penzey's Spices website not long ago, and they have super nice gift boxes, so I just bought a couple that have been put together to honor teachers, since my sons and daughters in laws are trying to stay afloat in the ongoing confusion of the education field during a pandemic.

I'm going to get a couple gift cards for a couple local upscale food markets, and put them in a Xmas Card for each household so they can plan a gourmet-ish dinner at home.

Do you cross-stitch, sew, or do any crafts, that they might like and can have to keep for years to come?  Something...homemade.  ??

A gift hamper from Fortnum & Mason?

I'm patiently waiting to hear what my DD would like. But this is something I know she would love.
