Re: Checking in, it's been busy

@monicakm It does sound like you are busy. You perhaps unintentionally found my system for doctors' appointments. I schedule every appointment on consecutive days of the same week for both of us. Sometimes we have two appointments on the same day. I dislike going to doctors, so we do it all at once including dentist visits. Then we are done for another 90 days. Scattering them out just keeps us tied to being at home.

I'm glad you feel good about your accomplishments working with troubled teens and their parents.  That's not only an important job but a stressful one.  You're responsible for such an important outcome for these children.  I don't see how you couldn't bring that home!

I haven't had a schedule since I was in college.  My husband keeps telling me I need a schedule.  I tell him I have one...to do what I want, when I want.  Srsly, I do understand that it would make for a better life if I did have a schedule.  I really do.  It's hard when you are born a night owl.

number one priority is good health and peace of mind.

That's what it's all about

Each level of my makeup cart has acrylic trays that fit perfectly.  Each tray contains the same products...Blush in one, foundation in one, bronzer, highlighter, etc.  Then the middle level has all my eyeshadows in a larger clear acrylic container.  Bottom level is misc.  So it's pretty easy to put things back where they belong.  I just seem to be in a hurry lately.

YES, I'm a night owl.  But I was a worker bee yesterday.  I fell in bed at 8.  I tried to watch one video and stopped about 2 minutes in and went to sleep (g).

That's an incredible story and a sweet one.  Ten is pretty young to be getting those kinds of gifts Smiley Wink  Were you able to locate him and let him know you found the necklace (or did he know you lost it?)  It sounds lovely!

Just sat down to put on my face. I've also lost one of my favorite earrings. I was hoping to find it in the car but didn't. Amazon doesn't sell it anymore. They do sell it in a silver Style but I wear this pair of bronze earrings with a couple of animal print shirts. So sad.  I've checked my purse and nightstand in between nightstand and bed (siigh).  I sure hope Medicare age isn't weekly doctor appointments much less 3 in a week! Oh, I also finally organized my makeup cart. It had gotten untidy! Untidy describes my life right now LOL. I'm working on it 🙃😳

@monicakm Life takes a lot of work! As we retire, our job seems to be hopping from one doctor's appointment to the next. I totally hear you. It's cool that you organized your makeup cart. You must have the most amazing makeup collection! Losing your favorite earring.....yup, frustrating. Once, I lost my favorite stud. I couldn't find it anywhere; I looked high and low. I decided to start the vacuuming with a nylon stocking over the hose (so I wouldn't suck up the earring)....low and behold I found it under a table. I hope you find it soon. 🤞🏻

@monicakm   Glad to hear from another nightowl that has no schedule.  I had a schedule my entire life that went against my "nightowl" personality - school then work.

Since retiring 5 years ago I have NO schedule Yay!  My normal bedtime is around 3 a.m.  And I get up when I feel like it and do what I want.  Exception of course would be doctor appointments.  I try to make them in the afternoon then after DH and I go out to dinner.

I don't normally read the beauty posts just start with All Forum Topics and browse thru all of the categories so I don't see most of your posts. Glad to see you in "Among Friends"

@monicakm  It's alllll what you get used to!  I also squeezed in a run and workouts and college part time while still working full time. And raised 4 kids omg exhausting.  Took me 10 years to get two degrees!!

I just hit my 50th year as a MD state employee.  No, not retiring as I worked too hard for those degrees.  Im 68 and I think I'm gonna stretch it for another 5.

And detailing a car is time consuming and exhausting.  Last time I did it I said that's it I'm paying a car cleaning place to do it next time...I promised myself 😉

edited to add I'm a night owl too.  Typically don't get to bed until 12:30-1am but I don't have to get up for work until about 7:45.  Gotta be there at 9.  Weekends, more like 2am 🥱

@monicakm   Your makeup cart sounds so glam and organized and it was very clever of you to get clear acrylic trays to categorize your makup.  You had a big day yesterday with appointmnets and detailing the car, you deserved to go to bed early Smiley Happy. I meant to ask you-are you enjoying your pretty owl Hourglass limited edition palette still? Smiley Happy

I'm glad that you liked my story about my pendant! Ten really was a young age for him to get me such a nice gift.  I never told him or his mom that I lost the pendant since I was embarassed about potentially losing it and knew in my heart that I would find it someday.  I haven't reached out to him or his mom since they're both live way on the East Coast and I misplaced their number.  It was a one sided crush on my part when I was  a kid and he saw me solely as a very good friend.  We lost touch after middle school and when I blossomed into a beauty in my 20's he reached out and told me he wanted to date me, and by that point my feelings had understandably subsided after a decade or so of not seeing or hearing from him- I went on to have some great loves and crushes and heartbreak, whereas he wasn't as experienced.  Two ships sailing in the night I guess, but that pendant is still something that I really treasure Smiley Happy.

Yes I am absolutely enjoying the Hourglass "Owl" pallet. And those two face patterns are so so pretty. I used the lighter one of the two today in the T-Zone and then without adding any powder to the brush just fanned it out towards the outer part of my face. I normally do not use face powder because I'm so dry but this formula is almost hydrating or at least not drying.

Categorize!  I could not think of that word this morning to save my life.  I love my setup and even more now that I've got it reorganized and looking nice. I put The Hourglass owl and The Hourglass elephant side by side 😊

I even did some decluttering while getting everything put back in place.  I got rid of a pinky-peach 🍑 blush.  I keep trying to make pinky peach look good on me but I need it to be more pink than peach.  My granddaughter's coloring is perfect for pinky peach so I added it to a little pink drawstring pouch that a Nogu bracelet came in. When I received my Nogu bracelet, they sent me another one. This one was in green and brown tones which I would have virtually nothing to wear with it but she would.

Ah, the love story that never was.

Re: Checking in, it's been busy

@monicakm  I;m so glad that you're enjoying your Hourglass Owl and Elephant palettes- those looked so pretty in the photos and you're creating a lot of great looks with them too from what you're describing Smiley Happy.  I'll get an Hourglass palette someday too- I've eyed them for years at Sephora.  I blanked on "categorize" for a couple of minutes and thought "put together" "organize"... oh, "categorize!" Its easy to forget words- I definitely do that too.

Your granddaughter is going to love the earth tone Nogu bracelet and the pink peach blush! She must love all of your treats and gifts and I'm sure she really enjoys spending time with you Smiley HappyHeart. I like the love story that never was too.   I can look back on my time knowing him as a kid and think of all of the fun we had and wish him well in my thoughts. I hope he finds a great wife someday and I hope I find a great husband someday! Smiley Very Happy

Re: Checking in, it's been busy

@Effie54

Since the one earring was in the car, more than likely the other one would have been too but we didn't find it.  My husband is going to look for it in the shop vac.  I did check the usual places in the house tho.  Good news about another lost/misplaced item tho, my daughter called this morning to ask if I'm missing a pair of Kate Spade sunglasses.  YESSSSSS (now that winter is about over and it will be time for my white pair in the Spring).  She found them in an end-table at mom and dad's.  That's a wonderful tip for vacuuming light weight items that could be destroyed by the beater bars!

Look what I just found on Amazon.  They are close to the same thing I lost.  I still like the other ones more but the others are now $70 and these are $18.  This has encouraged me to keep looking.  If I haven't already mentioned it, I called the company and they no longer make my old ones.

I did a Google Lens search and just found out QVC USED to sell the ones I lost.
