@halfpint1 I've read your posts about this problem. I'm guessing you can't talk to your son?
In all kindness, I strongly suggest you ask your doctor's office for a referral to Senior Social Services. They are there to help us older folks with many things.
It does NOT mean you have "mental problems." They are there to assist you with all kinds of things.
Since you have ongoing problems I really think this would be a huge help to you. Please do it for your own well being.
I kind of doubt you will take my advice, and that's okay, but it would help you.

@halfpint1 @Love my grandkids is right. You need an advocate.....make a mental or written note for TOMORROW....call your doctors office and ask for a referral - the situation will not get better, you must be pro active.

@halfpint1 @I am not sure what you are talking about but I do think you need to get some help with your problems.I have caregivers who visit my mom in her home five times a day to help her with meals, cleaning and getting ready for bed.She is feeling much safer and happier now and really looks forward to the visits. This service is free in Canada but not sure about USA.

I responded to your other thread about this and knowing your history of hearing these noises that your son Bob, nor service personel hear, have you tried a sound machine or air cleaner next to your bed to mask the sounds you're hearing?
You can get sound machines that let you choose between the sound of raid, waves, etc., they can be quite soothing.

I use a loud fan.

I don’t believe the services are free in the US, but there is financial assistance. I think the OP lives in So Cal, and I see Seniors Helping Seniors has a presence there

I am still in the minority here.OP may hear real noises (frequencies) than only a few will here.

@KingstonsMom I was just a few minutes ago talking to my next door neighbor about machines that make 'white noise'.
They block out other noises and make it easier for people to sleep.
My youngest daughter sleeps with such a machine. When she comes to visit me, she turns on the ceiling fan and or another stand alone fan to make a kind of hum in the room.
I often fall asleep with the TV on. After awhile, the TV automatically shuts off.
Maybe that's what this lady needs. She sounds like she might have tinnitus. My late husband had it. He was diagnosed with it.
He had it for years though. He was sharp-shooter in the military and the Dr said that's where he damaged his ears. The Dr also said as we get old(er) many people have problems with ringing in their ears. Each person describes it differently.
I just came in on this conversation, so I apologize, I might be understanding the problem totally wrong. If so I totally apologize.
I will say to the OP that these ladies here are very intelligent and give excellent advice and I hope she (the OP) takes some of the advice and will at least talk to her Dr about the problem.

@Annabellethecat66 , you sweetie!
No need to apologize, you're right on target with suggestions to mask the noise.
I sleep with a ceiling fan on and an air cleaner next to my bed!
