Hey everybody! Wow, took me some time to catch up. I did enjoy reading what everybody's up to for the holidays.

I can't really remember now who all mentioned what for cooking, but I wanted to tell what I like with some of the things mentioned.

I love Wolfgang Puck's Rice Cooker Mac and Cheese, and it's pretty easy to adapt to the stove top, I've done it.

Another good side with ham is Hash Brown Potato Casserole. I cook my ham with beer and brown sugar, it's always a big hit.

For the potatoes and green beans I cook them in 2 parts chicken broth and 1 part water, with a few whole garlic galic cloves thrown in and a pinch of celery salt.

Not much going on here, not much change in my health Smiley Sad. I see my Rheumatologist next Thursday.

Hi my friends.

...busy, busy, busy.  This week coming up will be a nice one but in and out and all around.  Family together...lovely.

The weather is warm and I'm happy about that, going to the city this weekend with hubby and we've scheduled a few nice things to do.  We're going to Eataly on Friday evening and I plan on buying the place out!  There's a few bottles of olive oil calling my name along with a new anchovies oil.  I can't wait.

You are observant and logical!

Woman LOL

Now if that isn't the best thing I've heard all year (about me, that is!).

Thank you, @Noel7

So happy you got on board with my round-the-curve train of thought.  (I almost said "round-the-bend," but that has a completely different connotation, as you already know.)  Cheerio!

@MyGirlsMom

That sounds like a wonderful outing.

I was watching Live with Kelly and Michael this morning (as I do from time to time) and they always mention the locally warm weather in the NY area.

Olive oil.  It's important to have good ones in your pantry.  I like that we (as consumers) are now also seeing (at least it's new to me these past few years) that some single-type oils are better for salads, or for sauteing, or other uses, and the label tells you what sort of taste it may have.

Do you taste them before buying or do you buy the ones you are sure will do what you expect?

The beauty of it all is that you get to taste everything before you buy at Eataly! Heart

When you have a spare moment, look up their website.  There are two locations, one in NYC and the other is in Chicago.

Such a festive kitty!  I like him/her.

I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling better.

Have you ever tried to eliminate nightshades from your diet?  I did and found it helped.  Obviously, it's not a cure or anything, but anything that can help my condition, I will try and often it does help.

You probably know that the four main nightshades are tomatoes, white potatoes, eggplants, and peppers.

And for me, who grew up not eating a lot of green salads (it was the days of iceberg lettuce and canned vegetables - neither of which I ever liked anyway), now that I have GREATLY increased my salad intake, I've also found that this helps.

I'm all in favor of trying whatever we can do that helps, that is basically free, and has no side effects!

Best wishes for improved health, @betteb

Hi all,

So....left work early (my boss was annoyed, haha, not like she could say no, I had a good reason), got the temporary debit card at the bank, reserved a rental car and did the grocery shopping I couldn't do yesterday because I was card-less and so money-less.

Except for Wednesday, when we are having a great catered lunch of Indian food in our dept, this week is going to really suk at work. Four.more.days!
