Calling Kachina624 4/18/2020

The area around the pond is waking up!  The last big downpour washed a lot of sand in and pond life out.  DH is raising tadpoles that will be tiny frogs.

This is the side of the driveway before it reaches about an 18 ft drop at the end.  Imagine this in snow and ice!

So pretty and green.  I used to love to collect and raise tadpoles when we vacationed on a lake in Colorado when I was a kid.  They turned into the cutest, tiny frogs.

Do you get deer in there?

No, Dear.  No Deer.  We have bears occasionally, hawks always, and occacionally beavers who build dams and flood everything.  In the winter we have had wild cats off of the mountain.

@ECBG Ah, that's where we are looking to retire Waynesville, Henderson, that area. My daughter is going to move in 5 years to Asheville and we want to be 30 minutes from there. Boy, it will cost as much as where I live in Havre de Grace, MD to buy a house.

Sorry, I didn't get your "flag".  The "page" isn't live if it isn't blue.

Waynesville is small, higher in the mountains, colder, and gets more bad weather than we do in the Asheville area.  They come here to shop and have choices.  They are very close to Western Carolina University and extremely rural.

Hendersonville is 30 minutes south of me, home of Kelly Gillis, of Top Gun and the Carl Sandburg home is near by as well.  Their down town is very lovely with the winding street to slow traffic, cafe tables, and shops.  They come here to shop as well.

Asheville has all of the main stores as well as the airport and largest hospital which has a heart tower said to be second only to Duke University Hospital.

Biltmore House is 15 to 20 minutes from where I live.  We shop and have lunch often in Biltmore Village.
