Here's the area you love a week ago with a touch of snow. Now you can really see it. We'll have ducks in about 6 weeks!!! DH just installed the new Photoshop! Only took forever, you know how that goes!!!
I wish you were next door!

@ECBG Is that view from your driveway? It so pretty to look down on that pristine little pond, through the woods. If you lived in a colder place, it would be perfect for ice skating. The light is so pretty in this picture.

The pond has a tree that a flood left there. It is buried in silt and won't come out without a truck which can't happen because we are on the edge of protected wet land by a group called "River Link".

@ECBG Sigh. Just lovely. What area of the country is this if you don't mind my asking.

This is what I drive next to on the way to where I work. The French Broad river. This is what remains from two rivers that ran together. The French River, from the French that settled here and the Broad River.
One day we all stopped for a snapping turtle that had to be older than 100! He was the size of a meat platter!
We are a popular vacation destination and we are near the Cradle Of Forestry and on the Appalachian Trail.

@ECBG GORGEOUS! Thank you and I love the little history lesson, I love learning about things like this!
I briefly saw a post from you yesterday and you mentioned the area where you live and for some reason the post and photo went away. I hope you'll share more photos.
How lucky to live with such beauty. Love the story about the 100 year old turtle.

@ECBG I'm in Bellevue, WA, an ex-pat from Southern California since 2010. I am always homesick for "home". Due to a lot of factors I don't see travel in my near future but I would LOVE to come there. Always wanted to visit the area. Sigh.
