We have company!  They must have stayed in the high grasses during the hard rain last week.  He'll leave, she will go into the grasses for a month, then we'll have ducklings!Resized_20220402_140443.jpeg

You couldn't have better company. They're beautiful. Love it.

Spoiler

Ah, Mr & Mrs. Mallard.  A family will soon follow.

I had 2 pairs of quail in my front yard this morning, double dating.  They too will soon be followed by a covy of cute, fluffy babies.

@Kachina624

The first bushes are just beginning to green up.  You probably saw the water is down.  We're due for rain tomorrow.

Re: Calling Kachina 4/4/2022

There must be something in the air.

I told you guys how I have all of these cameras around my house (inside and outside).

Every day I just automatically delete the video from them because it's either deer, birds, squirrels, etc.

Welllastweek there were only 3 pictures on a camera on my back railing.

I glanced at it and it was one squirrel doing some weird dance.  Then I clicked on number 2 and one squirrel was busy getting very busy with the other squirrel.  Video number 3 show him (after getting bus) putting his arms around her as if he was giving her a hug.

It was so sweet.  I felt like a voyeur.  I quickly deleted all 3 of them.

Then I remembered what a pain in the neck they are.

Guess there'll be some baby squirrels soon on the back porch chasing away the birds.

Ain't Mother Nature grand!  HA!🤪

How beautiful @ECBG!

We had a family of ducks-they had their babies under the nearest bush to our house and later let me put them in a baby bath. They visited us every day. They were wonderful!💗
