CWAP! HOME WITH A COLD

[ Edited ]

Maybe the changeable weather, the kids with running noses, overdoing getting ready for the holiday, but I'm down w/ a cold, stuffy nose and cough...no fever.

Yes, all my Mothers... chicken soup, liquids, Advil and lots of rest and lousy daytime TV. I'm in bed with my IPad catching up w/ emails and all of you. Yesterday, I wrote all my Christmas and Hanukkah cards. They're stamped and ready to mail.

I don't usually baby myself, but have a Friday deadline. DS and DIL have his company dinner and we're going over to take the granddaughters to an early supper, Temple and and babysit until the party's over. We should be home by 11PM, but that's still a lot of game playing, coloring, kids' movies on Netflix and want to feel up to par.

Thankfully, I have some movies recorded and Amazon Prime movies to keep me company if things here get really boring.

@Shanus @Hate to bring bad news but that cold lasts a coup,e of weeks. It seems to be going around here and people say they spend a lot of time coughing and not feeling well.I hope that you will be able to kick it’s butt faster than the people I’ve talked to.

Uh oh. My husband has been sick with a cold for days. I am so afraid of catching it because I have asthma and a cold is never just a cold for me. I already had pneumonia a few months ago. My grandson is coming up to visit This weekend and he, too, has asthma so I'll have to warn him about this House of Germs.

Hi @Shanus,

"Down with a cold"?  My mom taught me just the opposite by her actions when she practiced what she preached to us kids. Just what she called a  "hot tottie" and she said to just keep going, which she did. A runny nose and a cough wasn't to us being sick.

A "cold" to us meant most of what you describe, runny nose/cough no fever. Was just another day and effected nothing in our days. I really think everyone has their own theory what constitutes a "cold", and mine is that it is a typical day, with a runny nose and even a cough.

If you have cable or satellite and can't find something to watch you enjoy?  Could be you don't have a package that suits you. I DVR only shows I want to watch and have a lot of shows ready just in case 1 of my many health issues raises its ugly head again.

Whatever has got you "under the weather" I hope soon have you feeling good again.

Thanks @hckynut. I feel tired and achy and taking it easy just today. That doesn't mean I remain down and out. I'll be up and out tomorrow for a light workout, food shopping, mall returns, and home for a jewelry consultation. Nothing keeps me down for long. Yes, I have lots of shows recorded and ready to watch. Spectrum seems to be cutting  back on the channels I used to like to watch like the DIY channel and most of the time Food Network doesn't record/come in. No choice here but a dish, but no other internet service but Spectrum. They really have this area tied up.

BTW. What's a tottie?

You're very lucky to recover from colds so quickly.

@Shanus  in my house a hot toddy (or totty/tottie) is warmed bourbon, shot of lemon juice with a bit of honey.
