What I love about cruising is that you don't have to pack & unpack when going to different islands, cities or villages that you would when traveling by bus or train!  It's nice to reach your destination and stay in the same room for most of the trip.

We went on an extended family river cruise last Sept. in France. We cruised along the Rhone and went through Provence.  Stopped in Lyon and took a train up to Paris. It was a wonderful trip and I loved having our adult kids, cousins and brother & sister in law along!

We hope to go to the Uk next year and it looks like Princess has a few nice cruises going around the British Isles.  I can wait!!

Enjoy your cruise!

I love boating, but I would never sign up for a cruise. Not my style to be stuck on board with people I know or not, for days on end.

I've seen the commercials on tv for the Viking River cruises.  I am serioulsy thinking about looking into this cruise for next year.  I would like to take my grandchild who is teenager w/me.  I think this will be a learning experience for him.

I would love to do the Amazon river cruise too!

In 2013 we did a Viking Christmas Market Cruise and enjoyed it very much.  We booked it almost a year ahead of time when they were offering 2 for 1 pricing.  If you booked their top category, you were given a first class flight with it.

We were very fortunate to have a great group of travel mates on board.  As the ships are small, it could be a real problem trying to escape obnoxious fellow travelers.

I did the Viking River cruise but found the Tauck River cruises to be better.

We are going to do a river cruise somewhere in Europe in the next few years.

Would you please share your thoughts on why Tauck River was better and which were the best areas to cruise through?

Many thanks.

Which cruise line did you choose? This area is on our bucket list. Many thanks.

I have been on 10 or more cruises, first as a single woman and then with my husband. We loved Celebrity, cruised with them 4 times, disliked NCL, cabins small and their open seating dinner was not to our liking and Despised Carnival (could not wait to get off the boat and away from the crowds), it is was the lowest of the low, poorly mannered and dressed people

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive what could go right.

I have never been on a cruise, I enjoy reading the posts of those who have been. I so love to watch movies about cruise ships, especially the Titanic.

Just returned from our 1st cruise to Alaska on Holland America.  It was great and loved this first cruise experience.  It's been hard readjusting to the hot hot temps here at home though.

We went with Smithsoinian Journeys which is affiliated with the museum.
