Don't be surprised if the part is $1.99 and the labor is $498.01

@Luvsmyfam   Maybe moneywise worry free but with a new vehicle there are so many recalls that could cause scary things and often there are waits to get them fixed..  I bought a new vehicle and always buy a standard and not automatic transmission.  There was a recall due to faulty shift sticks but dealership could not get the parts needed.   While driving the gear shift broke off and just was wobbling.  Could have been disastrous if I had been in heavy traffic.  Luckily I was a few blocks from home and was in 2nd gear and had no traffic so was able to turn into my street.  In the first 2 years I had 5 recalls and SO had a new veihcle that had 4 recalls in the first 2 years.

I drove a Toyota Tacoma for 16 years.  The last 5 I did without AC.

There were a ton of recalls on that vehicle, as well as class action litigation taken against Toyota about potential frame rust out.  Well, the frame did rust out, I did not pass inspection, and I am now driving a new car.

Not sure how "worry free" the new one is, except that there is at least a warranty (that I'm sure the dealer can dodge, if they want to).

I loved that truck.  I see fewer and fewer on the road these days.

I had to buy a  new (to me car) back the end of June, My Escape was 13 years old and the problem would have cost more to fix then what the car was worth and they couldn't gaurantee it would be okay, so  I had it towed away and sold for junk. I purchased a 2019 Kia Sportage off a lease with 9000 miles on it. A lot of bells and whistles on it I could do without. It took me 20 minutes just to figure out the trip meter. I'm old school and I'll take a radio, AC and power windows. The rest I don't really need. Also, my insurance went thru the roof because of putting collision back on. I don't drive too much so I'm hoping this one outlasts me.

I'm still driving my 2005 Acura MDX. I love that car. I think it will out live me.

A car that I bouught new brought me nothing but problems.  When I tried to drive it off the lot it stalled.  Mechanic fooled with it and started it and away I went.  During the first two months I owned this car it stalled 5 times and each time was scary, 4 in heavy traffic and once on the turnpike.  Had towed back to the dealership only to be adjusted again instead of a part I knew needed replaced.

Finally on the 5th time I insisted on a new part and the service manager argued with me and I did yell and scream at him.  He called me a crazy lady and again the part was adjusted.

I called General Motors and lodged a complaint.    Lo and behold, I received a call from that same service manager apologizing for calling me names and said to bring in the car and they would put a new part on it.

After that it worked like a charm.  If only they would have done what I asked the first time.  I was so disgusted with that car by that time, I only kept it a total of 8 months before I traded for another new car of a  different make and from a different dealership.
