I love oatmeal and I love the naughty kind in the little envelopes...maple and brown sugar.

@spumoni99 I love those flavors too--but use them in the rolled oats and substitute flax oil for butter (even a teaspoon or two make give it that mouth feel like lots of butter and it's better for you they say), and real maple syrup.  And not as much as I would love!  Woman Embarassed

But it is close enough to the naughty stuff for me now!  Woman LOL  Which I started to get hubby on a healthier path a couple years ago.

I have never been a cereal person.  I eat gluten free and never drink milk, so that's a problem.

A few months ago,I wanted to add more fiber into my diet, so I turned to steel cut oatmeal...not the quick cook kind.  I ate it plain...no fruit,no sugar and no milk.  I ate it almost every morning.

Well,I gave it up.  Without changing my diet except for the oatmeal, I gained 20 pounds.

Cereal is not really a healthy choice, and causes me weight gain...so no more for me.

Just a cup of coffee for me - with cream and sugar.

I used to eat steel cut oatmeal loaded up with butter, brown sugar and raisins, and I always had an assortment of cereals.  I ate breakfast every morning.  Life changed and I haven't eaten any of these kinds of cereal in close to five years. I learned more and  IMO, they aren't healthy and I refuse to eat them now. If I ever eat any "cereal " it's homemade keto granola or Nu Trail Keto Granola, but it's later on as part of my lunch.  I do lengthy intermittent fasting daily and only eat one meal a day or a meal and small snack.   I'm fasting in the morning and only drink 2-3 mugs of coffee.  One of them gets MCT oil.

@Carmie I was very thin growing up (genetics) and my mom was always trying to fatten me up. She tried her darndest to get me to like oatmeal because she said it would stick to my ribs. It triggered my gag reflexes every time. I still can't eat it unless I bake it with fruit like blueberries or apples.

@cheriere  I like Heritage flakes, Quaker oatmeal. I don't really have sugary cereal option. I do like fruit loops once every 10 years, lol.

Some of the cereals mentioned brought back fond childhood memories. Does anyone else like breakfast foods or cereal for dinner or am I the only oddball? Lol
