If the bag is real fur, donate it to a wildlife rehabilitation place. That's what I did with the fur coats I inherited and they were quite pleased to get them. Sell the gift card, keep the duck thing and display it. Because it's odd, no one will ever think of you as stodgy.

That's one reason why we stopped exchanging gifts with adult relatives.

@Calcgirl  I can't imagine gifting someone a robe with a stain on it. That's pathetic.

I am a very grateful person. I am always appreciative of even a small gift or a card. This year for Christmas, DH and I received a lineup of the most bizarre gifts from family members. I don't even know what some of them are. I guess I will just donate, but some I guess I will just toss. First, we got a $100 gift card to a very nice restaurant that isn't even in our state...in fact, it is on the other side of the country and we never travel there. Next,I got a giant faux fur sack about 18x24" with one plastic handle on one side of it. It was filled with oranges.  We also got a strange-looking spceramic pievpce that must be a vase or figurine and DH and I are still debating what it is...it is pale pink with a duck painted on it at the bottom. We each got very expensive-looking monogrammed notepads. Both of our middle name initial is wrong. Both of us have L as the middle initial but his has a D and mine has a B. Are we living in the twilight zone? All of these gifts came from wealthy, successful young adults. I am totally baffled. Were we pranked?

@Trailrun23, This has to win the prize for the funniest post Christmas story I have seen here. LOL. One thing regarding the monogrammed notepad is that the sequence in a proper monogram is first name initial is first, the middle initial should be the initial of your last name, and the middle initial (L)should be last.  Hopefully the oranges will be great. I am sorry. Next year you could give everybody an off brand box of chocolate covered cherries.

The font on the monogram was a block print...three letters of the same size so I just assumed the middle letter was the middle initial. No matter since they aren't right anyway. DH took the oranges and has been eating them. I am glad someone enjoyed reading about my ridiculous gifts, I think.

I wonder if anyone else here has been the victim of re-gifting this year?

@Trailrun23 sorry if we are laughing, but that is the oddest assortment of bad gifts I've read about. Not sure I'd want to spend a holiday with those people. Maybe head out on vacation next Christmas.

The only weird part is the gifts were from family members.
