@Calcgirl, belated happy birthday and hope you will be feeling better every day. My sister's birthday was June 29th. Two days later she was admitted to the hospital where she is now. She was/is having trouble breathing but tested negative for covid. She's quarantined, on oxygen and receiving meds for severe asthmatic bronchitis. When everything else is ruled out and her breathing is stabilized she'll be tested again for covid before being discharged.

You have COVID-19 OR you were alone because of the pandemic?

I celebrated my Birthday the day after I buried my sister dying of Covid-19!

@Hooty Very sorry to read about your sister. You're the second person I've read about on these boards that lost a family member. I seriously hope the OP understands that millions of people have not been able to celebrate their birthdays with family/friends this year. I hope she fully recovers. It's the families of the 130,000 people we lost to Covid that are suffering.

@Calcgirl My birthday was a couple weeks ago.  I made do with phone calls and Facebook messages...no party!  Instead of a cake I made myself a big root beer float.

Edited to add....I just read your post that you have the virus.  Sending you a prayer and my wishes for a speedy recovery.  đź™ŹđźŚ·

@Calcgirl

Sorry your birthday got caught up during these times. Mine was in early June, but I have my wife and our 7 furry kids celebrating with me. I never forgot the many "Virtual Friends" here because many celebrated with us.

Nobody likes living in this seemingly all virtual world, but there is a light at the end of it. Not sure if you "celebrated", or are celebrating! Either way.

Happy Birthday!

@dancing 522queen

Like you I spent my 1st back surgery in the hospital. It was in 1974 and my 35th birthday. Since then I have spent 2 others, also in the hospital, 1 of them for almost 5 weeks.

The one in 2008 was a double whami, my birthday, and I had a gallon of GoLytely as my birthday drink. My sis, not knowing,  brought me cupcakes, which I handed out to a few of my nurses, tech, and to the housekeeper. Apple juice and orange jello were my meals for 17 straight days. Hard to forget that one.

@Calcgirl   I'm sorry you are sick and hope you will be better soon! It's not fun to be alone especially sick with the virus and not seeing family and friends. Take care and if you get really bad go to the hospital.
