Re: Bird's Nest for October 2022

@Bird mama

I don't think of myself as a hoarder, but I just got rid of 4 huge bags of clothes and "stuff" to the mission store. I know I could probably gather up another 4+ bags to take again. DH I've been talking about having to get rid of stuff as our lives have changed so much in the past couple of years. Who needs all the stuff. I know I don't. It's just things that I need to dust or clean or shift around and I don't want to do that anymore.

I made the mistake of channel surfing yesterday and landing on a channel that was running back to back Hoarders episodes.  I watched 2 hour episdoes in a row and thought I was going to need a nerve pill to get to sleep.  Upon reflection...did these therapists and organizers really think they were going to come into a house and help someone that is mentally ill see the light in 2 days.

Suffice it to say, I just reorganized the master bedroom closet and am looking for things to throw out/donate.

Well @mousiegirl   I looked around online and it appears the the only booster available these days is the bivalent.  So I would say yea.  Years ago and I mean years ago they used to offer a flu and swine flu shot.  Then they combined the two types of flu into one shot and took the choice away from patients.

Yea I'm not hoardish either @Leeny   I just can't watch that show without tossing or donating something, lol.

@mousiegirl

I don't think you will need the 4th to get the latest vaccine for omicron and its variances. I know our youngest son just had his physical and his doctor told him to wait 2 more weeks for him to get it.

I had my 5th one about 2 weeks ago as I am auto immune disease. I had the Pfizer and had no real issues.

@Bird mama   I was just looking into the bivalent booster last night.  I have had three shots, and wonder if I can get the bivalent without having had the fourth booster, if you know.

@Bird mama  I have watched a few shows, and said to myself, "uh oh," lol.  It makes one think, that's for sure.

You know @mousiegirl  I can see how 'collecting' like comic books, nick-nicks can get out of hand.  The unsanitary hoarding - oooh just ate some tortillia chips and don't want to get an upset stomach - or not knowing a pet died until someone unearths it (like last night)

That's when I say to myself out loud - that's enough, gotta stop watching and

@mousiegirl

Yes, you can.  I had the two original shots and one booster last year and got the bivalent booster just yesterday.

It doesn't matter how many boosters you've had, as long as they were over two months ago.  Or if you had Covid, you should wait two months afterwards to get a vaccine.

@Bird mama   Oh yes, the dead animals and filth, just can't stomach watching that, but I do have too many items in my house, lol.

I once had a boyfriend who had a sister.  He took me to her apartment and tried to warn me, saying she doesn't clean often, but that didn't prepare me for what I saw.  Plates with dried on food all over, barely a place to sit or walk, and I wanted out ASAP, never went back, but did still see the guy.  He didn't live with her, there would have been no room, though he may have cleaned.
