Re: Bird's Nest for August 2016

@mousiegirl

Good thing that you went and were checked.  Pneumonia is nothing to fool around with.  I was on the edge about seeing my doctor but woke up today feeling a lot better.  DH is also feeling better.  If we start to go down hill then I will definitely see my doctor.

Getting close to Saturday!  Bet you are so excited!

Abert's squirrel (or tassel-eared squirrel) (Sciurus aberti). www.nipon-scope.com:

This is different, at least for me.  Abert's Squirrel    When I see an animal or bird that is really different and it has an identification, I usually check with Google or one ot them to see if it's a real species.  This one is, but mostly other colors.   I found a couple photos like this one and under one of them,  someone posted this comment.  ~~~~~~~

Abert's squirrel. I didn't know these existed until a few minutes ago and now I NEED ONE.

Cat Very Happy I thought that was so funny,  but maybe I have a weird sense of humor.

Luvs, glad to see you are feeling a bit better, one step at a time. And yes, changing MDs to me has been an emotional struggle but one which is necessary. Almost everyone I talk to is having to change one or more MDs - no fun. By the way the medical group I belong to also has the BEST Urgent Care around and often, and I mean almost 100 percent of the time when I need a MD, I go there rather than my regular MD. Of course the annual visit is to the MD but you can get in for prompt service at the Urgent Care AND they have all your medical info as they are the same group. That is great. I will NOT go to an emergency room in a hospital - of course there may be a time. LOL. If you call your regular MD for a visit it is super rare you can get in the same day - I just walk in at Urgent Care and they have all my info.

Cool this morning, that could mean a good day or it could mean a muggy day - not sure which yet. Skies look overcast so am fearful it will be muggy.

Nice pictures one and all have submitted - sometimes getting thru the pix to read the messages takes a bit of time. That is a funny looking squirrel - guess Mother Nature certainly makes all kinds doesn't she?

Hope one and all have a good day and of course the feeders are empty - AGAIN. Just a couple days back I was filling them.

Have a great day one and all.

Thank you, Bernie. Heart  Of course, he's been on my mind more today than usual.  I go over that day in my head and it's amazing how vivid most of the day is.   Of course photos help the memories. Heart

I don't think I mentioned this here (Jesus, I'm posting on too many threads these days, lol).

The city finally got me on the punch list for a new driveway approach. Last summer the construction company that rebuilt my street from sand up jacked up some residents driveways.  I was in the last phase of construction and sort of got left behind.  Yesterday they ripped out the driveway approach - I have two construction barrels there now.

I'm curbside parking in front of my neighbor to the left of me.  My side of the street is the only side parking is allowed on the street and it appears the construction company is replacing a rather large rectangle of concrete on the other side of the street opposite my house.  If anyone parks in front of my house, traffic can't get through.

I was up early, watched a little of the Q and watered the front yard thoroughly.  I ran to the recycling center then stopped by Rite Aid. Nothing says middle aged, lol, like walking out of the pharmacy with that big colonoscopy prep jug.  I also bought a new ball for the squirrels.  They kept deflating the cheap beach ball and I was tired of blowing it up - don't want to catch a squirrel fungus or anything, lol.

I've been soaking the back yard.  Skies are getting cloudy and I don't trust that we will get rain so I'm steady watering.

The bird of the day is the Burnished Buff Tanager

@Bird mama

I am glad to hear that they have gotten to your driveway.  You must be happy that they have gotten to you.

I certainly know the feeling about walking out of the pharmacy with a big colonoscopy jug.  My turn is coming in Sept. also but they changed my prep or at least my old doctor did so i have to wait to see what the new doctor wants me to take.  Good luck with your colonoscopy.

I did not know that squirrels like to play with balls.  How cute that must be!
