Junco & roses - Sing of Yourself by Renae Smith:

Two of my favorite things, that I get to see separately, but never together till this photo. Juncos have gone back north by the time our roses start to bloom. Guess this little one is singing the Lord's praises. Lovely photo.

ours are usually gone by the time the roses bloom and I have no clue as to where they go to. All I know is we do not have any Junco's in the summer months. Beautiful picture!

Luvsbulldogs, I Googled the range of the Juncos and they summer in most of Canada all the way up to Alaska. Quite a wide area. I know they aren't around long enough to suit me.

Your deer visitors are so cool. My brother's have a running battle trying to keep them out of the gardens, both vegetable and flower. Too much habitat loss for them and also in Missouri, way too many deer. Need to bring back the natural predators. but most people balk at having bears, wolves and mountain lions back in MO. We do have some, but not many wolves, if any. Coyotes we do have. Nothing else is big enough to hunt deer. It's a shame as they are such beautiful animals, but they just are out of control, population wise.

Thanks for the info on Junco's. I sure do miss seeing them. We have the same problem in NH with the deer eating everything. Our neighbor put an electric fence around his garden this year. We have mountain lions here but the State denies it even though a lot of folks have seen them and even taken pics of them. I have no idea why they deny them being here. Have not seen wolves but have seen a lot fo coyottes and hear them late at night. Bear population is up here and they are even showing up now in the cities. Thanks for posting the great pics of the Junco's. I love them and the Cardinals.
