Possum, you always make my day. Conrad looks magnificent as the Easter Bunny. And Miss Blackie is on my (*^&^% list. In one of her sulking or whatever moods I reached down to rub her last night and she put two sharp front teeth in my hand. She does that on occasion - always has - and no one has ever figured out why. She is getting old but has done that since she was a wee one. Just never know when she is going to do it. I am one of the few who continues to pet her because of her "aloofness" - and will not stop. She startles if anyone or anything moves quickly around her but I do not do that and she still will nail me on occasion.
Super foggy this morning and Davey is back in school after "Spring Break". Do not like Spring Breaks or long times out of school. Even up to his Mother's generation Spring Break consisted of Good Friday! PERIOD!!!! That is all they need.
Hope all have a great day.

Winifred, One of my grandcats, Lucy, used to bite suddenly too. You could be petting her and she seemed to be enjoying it and the next second she was giving your hand a good ******. My cat, Mattie, will 'nibble kiss' my hand's if I stop petting her at times. I've tried breaking her of this habit but after 8 or so years of it, I might as well give up.
Easter at home, was a day of frozen mix and then snow. My brother had said my daffodils, jonquils etc were blooming last week and I hope the cold temps, 26, didn't kill them off or damage the many fruit trees in our area. We are across the Mississippi from central to lower Illinois where there are many farms and orchards. They have huge apple and peach orchards where folks can go to pick their own, if there's a crop. Not sure how those places fared with freezing temperatures in the 20ies. It was below freezing for a good part of yesterday, hovering around 29 to 31 degrees. Hope the ice and snow insulated the tender growth,
We never had Spring Break either. I don't think it was around even when I was teaching. Kind of 'new' thingy. I know the colleges have been doing it though for years, not the primary schools. I think kids need more days of education not less.
I hope you are feeling good and taking good care plus getting rest when you need it.

Snowy egret hunting for food. They'll shake their feet or run in different directions to stir up prey.

My nephew by marriage had a cat, Kitty, before he married my niece. Kitty is something else, lol. She tries to sucker you by coming up and rubbing against your leg and if you try to pet her, she'll try to attack you. Here lately, when I visit and she comes by me, I just let my right hand dangle and let Kitty rub against my hand. If I pet her at all, I stay away from her head.
I've been pretty lucky with Kitty, then again I respect the boundaries any animals set in a relationship.

@Bird mama Years ago, a cat came into my garden when I was grilling, It hung around for days so I decided it had no home, so let it come inside. It seemed very sweet, but hissed frequently, never saw this in the hundreds of cats in my life through the decades, and when I tried to pet it, it bit. I let it in and out, and finally, it didn't return. I decided that the cat had been abused and dumped, as usually abuse is what puts an animal in a defensive mode such as the hissing and biting.
