@Bird mama

Bernie,   Thank you for our October perching place.   We're having a bit of summer weather for a few days,  then supposedly on Thursday we'll have rain, needed, and by Saturday lows in the lower 40ies.   Am not ready for furnace weather.   Have to start bringing in my houseplants. It's so much easier to turn the hose on and water them all in a few minutes rather than individual watering in the house.   More work but I do love my plants.

I am thinking of bringing my jalapeno plants in again this winter as they thrived in the kitchen and had a big headstart on the ones I had to buy and re-pot.  Love my peppers too.

My granddaughter and her husband took the great grands apple picking yesterday.   Not cheap outing anymore.  The place charged $7 each from age 3 on up to ride the wagon out to the orchard.  I'm glad I didn't go as it was near 90 and I can't walk that far anymore.   I just get local grown apples from a small market nearby.  The two boys were eating apples, one in each hand.  They had lots of fun and were away from electronic thingies for a while, thankfully!!

Riverlynn, 8 months old, got to try a bit of fresh apple too.   May be an image of 1 person and baby

Re: Bird's Nest - October 2023

Hello All,

It's been so hot here that it feels like July. We broke the record yesterday. Friday was 92 and high 80's every other day including tomorrow. Then the shoe drops on Thursday. 60's and then 50's.

It is too much of a swing for my system. With the fibro, arthritis and all this new stuff I can't take it. Hopefully I can get to the Y tomorrow and get some kind of relief in the warm pool

Had the kids over this past weekend for Oktoberfest. We had brats and German potato salad and baked beans and Strawberry cheesecake. I told the kids I couldn't do this everyday like I use to. My cooking days are far and fewer anymore.

I hate having the A/C on, but I can't breathe very good if I don't have it running. My asthma still is acting up. I can't believe it is October already since the weather isn't coinciding with the temps it should be.

My son and I did go over to the appliance store yesterday and I ordered a new washer. it will be here next Monday.. Thank God! I can't believe the prices on appliances, but it is what it is. I am glad the rest of the appliances here are the landlord's responsiblity.
