Re: Best Moderately Priced Vacuum

I have a Shark Professional ( Whatever that means) and I swear by it.

Bought in 2018. I vacuum EVERY DAY ( two cats) cause I can't stand any hair around.

When I use the Shark on the main floor, I feel it's cleaning the basement floor at the same time ( GREAT powerful suction!!!).

Easy to clean the brush roll with scissors when needed, which in my experience is not often. I have several Royal Palace wool rugs too that shed all the time, so this thing gets a workout. Cleans the wood floors and sucks the hair away from everything like magic!

Easy to clean filter too...wash outdoors with the hose on a sunny day, leave in the sun to dry, reinstall.

I had a Dyson when that technology first came out, but since the patent expired on the bagless cyclonic magical vacuuming ability, you can buy TWO Sharks for the cost of one Dyson (although no cornball British accent in the sale spiel).....!!!!

The Dyson died, which is when I tried the Shark, mainly due to price. Dyson is overpriced for the same technology. They are selling the name, which I don't care about because there's no one here to impress with a big deal McNeil name when I'm cleaning my home!!!

Re: Best Moderately Priced Vacuum

Off Topic

A long time ago, years before the arrival of Shark and Dyson, I was in London at Christmas. Everywhere I went I saw people carrying a new Hoover vacuum, still in the box.

Now I knew Brits loved Hoovers so much that they made it a verb. I've got to go home and Hoover the flat.

But this was beyond unusual. More like Twilight Zone.

I finally approached a woman-with-Hoover and asked what was going on. "If you buy a Hoover this week, you get a free roundtrip airline ticket to New York City."

Wow. If the ticket could have been used NYC-London-NYC, I would have bought one too.
