i had carpet beetles lurking in my LR.  DH had an old wool oriental rug and they were likely nibbling on that rug. They like natural fibers like silk, wool and cotton, linen and leather.  they do not bite but they look similar to bed bugs,  i used a jewelry loupe and ID's the critter.  they can give some people a rash.

i would find these insect carcasses which creeped me out.    then i found live crawling ones! eewww! they have these folded up insect legs and look very flat when they are dead.

We deep cleaned the entire house and the rug was removed and sent to the cleaners.  i don't want it in the house though, i know it was feeding on the wool. (sorry hubs)

About 3 years ago my husband, grandson and I stayed at an AmericanInn at Princeton Il. We have stayed there at least 20 times without any problems. Hadn't stayed there much since my daughter moved. My grandson and I are watching his tablet and he says Nana there's a bug. Yep it was a bug, then 3 more came. For the life of me I never thought of them being bed bugs. The lady at the office came up and put them in a bag. She gave us a new room, but I get the feeling she thought we brought them in. When we checked out she didn't charge us which was nice. This is the only nice hotel in the area. Come to find out we have been black balled and can never stay there again. I called and asked  for the manager of the hotel, nope he wouldn't speak with me. I wrote the corporate office and they said that hotel was privately owned and the owner has the right to do what ever he wants without our corporates involvement. Wow crazy. Never did I even think about them being bed bugs until recently. This hotel has a lot of wedding guests and  wedding parties that stay there. I believe some of them were checking in as they heard us talking to the lady at the counter about what happeded. I am thinking they heard that story and said no way and left. Oh well. I think if she had wanted to speak with up in private that was on her. Pretty sure we cost them some money loss and they are ****** at us. We will get over it and have.

Their local News Channel 5 reached out to Regal and they were told that the pest control company Regal hired did not find any bed bugs. What a bunch of nonsense. It's a shame the husband didn't get a close up photo of the egg sack on his phone. This could be the reason the insurance company said they are not legally responsible. Maybe there are no local laws covering this. This could be another reason.

The decision not to settle could hurt the company. The public won't be so quick to go to that theatre now. They probably could have avoided any lost  business had they quietly settled with the couple and had the theatre treated. It probably would not have made the news. It might even hurt theatre business overall as many people are just learning about this risk and might not want to go to theatres because of it.

Is it in the fine print of Regal's ticket that they're not responsible for insect bites or any critters you pick up in their theater?

I guess the point is that it would be nearly impossible for anyone to prove their bedbugs came from the theater, so the theater might as well deny, deny, deny.

I don't know, but I'd think the expectation when you buy a ticket to a movie is you don't bring cooties home with you.  I wonder if since they found the nest/egg sac under the seats where he & his wife were seated & documented it, they'd have some leagal recourse?

@aubnwa01 @I think that whoever made the decision to deny the claim is counting on the couple not getting a lawyer. BTW, a person speaking from Regal to local Channel 5 said their pest control company did not find bed bugs. There's an article online from News Channel 5 Nashville.

@Pink123 There are so many types of tiny flying insects that bite in Florida. They could be biting you because they are attracted to your scent, or in most cases, because they are attracted to the natural carbon dioxide you give off every time you exhale. When you walk outside they can bite and sometimes they just fly inside with you when you open the door and then they bite you later.

Sometimes they hang out on the top of the soil in potted indoor plants.  You can spray the top of the soil with a pesticide that's safe for plants. You don't need to get spray on the plants. Spray the saucers under the plants if you have them. The gnats like the water that stands there. Wait until the saucer is dry if you're going to spray it.

The thing is, that bedbugs are everywhere; in office buildings, dressings rooms, etc. Everywhere.

Their resurgence is attributed to the banning of many pesticides which in the past, controlled them very well.

@gtx  well it's been some days.  No new areas of spots.  They are still there but fading slowly.

So I went out last night and sprayed my ankles.  Guess what?

I started itching in the restaurant on my ankles something awful.  I had to bend down and scratch.

I think I have to give up all parfum's.  Woman Sad

I'll keep you posted and like I said am getting blood work at quest soon.  Will show them my arm.

Thanks for your help.  I did spray some Shalimar on my knee area on the slacks I was wearing last night.  No problem.

@Pink123 Well now you have your answer.  So sorry about your parfum but so happy it isn't bugs. I googled places you can spray your perfume. You can spray it on clothes. I was always hesitant to do that. Afraid it might damage the fabric.

I am very sensitive to fragrance so only occasionally I will spray a tiny bit on my ankles. If I am around strong fragrance I get dizzy.

We had our house heated to 150 degrees on Friday. The heat kills bedbugs, mold, bacteria, viruses, dust mites, and other allergens. My house smells fresher! Even clothes in the drawers smell fresh.

The man who did our treatment was very thorough and found eggs on my Peria storage boxes. They don't get inside but like to get around the zippers on the outside.

He asked my husband to take off his shoes so he could heat them. He suggested he start taking off shoes outside. I have been trying to get him to do that for years!

I pray the bedbugs are gone!

@gtx  I'm  so happy you that it is over and done with.  Oh my goodness what you have gone through.

I hope it's the parfum as far as myself.  I'm not positive though for some reason.  I don't know why I'm not convinced for myself yet.

Will keep you posted.  God bless!
