Seems to me that Christmas Day with family is about a bit more than what's served for dinner...

 

Looking over this thread, there are many viable suggestions for how to either encorporate your preferred menu into the dinner or to have it before or after. Maybe, OP, there are other factors that have you feeling upset but it seems a little late in the game to derail an entire family's Christmas.

But we're only hearing one side of the saga. As others have said, there be "stuff" going on that has nothing to do with food.

I assume MIL is getting up there in years, and while you can stay home, I think some day you might regret skipping Christmas because you didn't like what was served.
