Hey QVC Friends....

Well, I'm back to work tomorrow.  I posted a life lessons (due to my federal furlough situation)  posting a few weeks ago. I wanted to provide you with an update. since I return to the office tomorrow.

Please let's not talk about anything political ....Please no comments like....THEY, we need "it", her, what is 3 weeks, HE... . I can't stand them... why, if XYZ was in office.........nothing political please

I am not really as excited as you would think.  I'm getting close to retirement (6 years at the earliest) and I think my spirit is showing me..... to really get ready, finalize financial issues, stay focused and get a final plan for retirement.

I remember about 4 years ago, I had leave and was out 3 weeks for the christmas holiday and I was excited to return to work.  I don't feel that way now, so I know I'm changing.

I might not do this today, but I am going to look into online employment.  Even something I could begin NOW on a part time base. I have no intention of leaving my job or retiring early, but I want to PLAN for the future.

I enjoyed being home, I enjoyed not gettting up at 5:30 am to get the 6:53 am bus, then taking the train and getting to work at 8:10 am.

I met a lady who is a online secretary.  So she never goes in the office, and the team meets once every two weeks at a restaurant for staff meetings.  Also when I called BJ's Travel the representative told me she worked at home 100%.  SO these jobs do exist, I think if I start looking now, I might find something sooner or later.

I am going to reseach and I aware of "scams" so I WILL not be paying anyone.  I will be looking for real official companies that hire online workers.

If you know of any online jobs or have experience in this area, I'd love to hear your comments and suggestions.

It is great that you are thinking ahead.  I was going to post that if you find anything online that looks interesting to post it here.  I keep thinking about either a part-time job or something online, but I really like being retired and not having to get up early and deal with craziness.

Good Luck with your first day back.  I am sure it will be a busy one!   I understand what you went through because I am a federal worker and had to work during the government shutdown.   My best to you in your upcoming retirement in a few years.   Hope you can find an online part time job.

My hat is off to all of you and my heart goes out to each and every single employee who endured this. I cried more than once seeing all that all of you put up with.

Make the best of your day and week ahead. God bless and thank you all for all you do for us.

@Happiness Is Inside JOB  I am happy people will get their paychecks and all of that.

After this extended  “break” I would hope young people employed by this outfit would look for work elsewhere.  I could not imagine going through this again ad again.

From your post it sounds as though you do know people with whom you can network and meet with them to hear more about the in’s and out’s of working online.

May be as they get to know you, there may be an opportunity t9 work a small project with/for them.  Maybe they can connect you to others who do online work in another field.

you have your future work cut out for you...take advantage of the people connections now.

MS. @Jlkz

Yes, I am going to reach out to the contacts I know and their are several people on you tube who do nothing but videos related to finding online jobs.

I plan to start to watch them, take notes and see what is available.  RIght now, I know these jobs of precious, so many people want these at home jobs so people don't quit.

It might take time to even get an interview or call back so I plan to start slowly looking NOW....

I just want to keep my options open so if a early retirement is offered in say 5 years I can seriously consider it because my financial situation is "GOOD".
