Bernie we are back over 100 and muggy. Was soaking wet up until about 2 this morning - or so. Just miserable. It is not unusual to have this heat in September out here - just wish it was the OLD heat as it was dry, never muggy. Ahhhh, the great weather has left us. And we never get thunderstorms - Bop Hoo - love those things. I think I have only seen about 2 since I moved to Sou Cal in September of 1960. Always have loved those things even as a kid.

Hope to get some chores done today but probably not much outside. Of course the energy level controls most any thing I do these days.

Yesterday was another stinking hot/muggy day. Just miserable - again!! The two little ones will have an exciting weekend coming up. Matt and Sherry are taking them to the Beach - they are BOTH so very excited!! And I will have two days - I hope - of peace and quiet. They will miss Leah at church but will be happy for her.

Need to go and check on Ditty - did not see him a few minutes ago but he shows up meowing loudly when he feels I am late with his food. LOL>

I'm enjoying the cool and rainy weather. I think I might scour the boxes in the basement and see what kind of autumnal decor I have (other than a wreath). Wish I could send some cool weather to posters who need it (and the rain).

Saying prayers for any posters in the path of Hurricane Florence.

hi ladies,

saw my surgeon today,Alls well.am walking W/a walker or just cane.

just sent my hubby to the grocery store,need to stock up on ready to eat foods in case we get hit hard with the hurricane. Know we will have flooding,hope it's not to bad.but we'd better be ready for it.

@Epicurean I am glad that you are healing well and I am praying for all in Florence's path. If you can check in periodically, that would be good just so we know how you are doing.

Will do Bernie. We have lived in No. Va. For 49 years and have seen some pretty rough hurricanes. Hoping this one looses a lot of strength as it hits land.

@Epicurean I hope so too because I read somewhere that it could hit Roanoke. I had to pull up a map of the USA to see exactly where Roanoke is and all I could say was OMG

Very chilly this morning. I know, it will change. LOL

I was born and raised in NC and remember well the hurricanes, storms, etc. As I recall most did lose strength as they hit land. Still pretty fierce but rarely as strong as they were when out over the water - thank goodness. Still does not seem there are as many today as back then. Same out here for earthquakes and when living in Oklahoma we had tornadoes. Seems to me that all have lessened - wonder why?

Still dark out here, got a load of clothes i the washer and here I sit - need to get a move on and some things done wile the little ones are still asleep. I will but need to get the coffee all the way down. I can always find reasons for either doing something or not doing something. Sigh.
