As @Sunshine45 mentioned, I learned that I do not have to buy the second BOGO grocery item. At Publix or Kroger (in this area anyway), if I buy one BOGO item, it scans at half price. I found that out one day when I was at the register as the groceries were scanned, and I said to the cashier, "I wish I didn't have to buy two of these because I won't use the second one before the expiration date." The cashier explained that I didn't have to. (Relief)

I no longer want to bogo. I recently relocated and had to get rid of too much "stuff". Have another move coming up and don't want to accumulate more.
there is a thread on this board about millennials and how their buying habits have changed vs those of their parents. And I agree with their philosophy of being less wasteful. Buy what you need, when you need it.
