I am curious if anyone has used either of these two sources for auto insurance; and if so, what is your experience. We've had the same auto insurance for many years with no tickets or accidents but insurance has gone up constantly and our premiums are outrageous. Any advice would be appreciated.

We switched to AARP in January for both home owners and auto and saved $85 a month over Amica.

My Amica has also gone through the roof lately. Will definitely be getting other quotes.

AARP auto insurance is through Hartford. Great discounts for seniors.
I have been w/AAA for 30+ yrs. When I compared my policy w/theirs my quote was a tad cheaper than Hartfords because of my longevity w/AAA.

@patticakes I have been with Amerprise Ins, now called CONNECT, through Costco for several years.
I live in Michigan where auto ins has always been one of the highest with state law changing in the past few months and when my policy renews I'll be saving a lot . So I can't compare prices as just about every ins. companies rates have been similar. I called around and everyone was higher than CONNECT.
With CONNECT I pay a little more each month for 5 months and no payment on the 6th month. This works well for me and it's like having extra $$$ for my needs. BTW I also have renter's ins through them.
My SUV was hit and insurance was easy to deal with and handled swiftly so no complaints there.
Good luck finding what works for you.

Run as far and as fast as you can away from AARP insurance. Nothing but trouble. We had Amica and had to change due to extreme rate hikes. Too bad because they are really good.

We have been with Farmers for all our insurance needs for over 40 years. Never looked into switching. What we pay seems reasonable.

We have all our insurance policies except for life with Travelers. Our premium is very reasonable. It doesn't seem to go up more than a few dollars each year. In addition we get a 15% discount through DH's job.

If you or your spouse or a parent is a Vet you might want to check out USAA. I have been with them for 41 years, based on my father's service (Marines and Navy). Based on that, both my sons plus DIL and her three adult children are covered. It is great insurance and we have made three major claims over the years (all for flood damage when we lived in the High Desert) and we'll never switch!

USAA customer service is unparalled.
