The offset style design of the handgrip allows my entire hand to fit on the grip without worrying about accommodating the cane post that goes down to the ground. I've become so accustomed to using a walker that walking with the cane almost makes me feel like I am trying to get around with a short crutch. I suppose it takes time. Since you are so adept on crutches I think you would transition more easily to a cane.

I've been using stairs for over a week now and I don't use anything except the handrail. At this point me trying to introduce a cane on the stairs is just me looking to fall down.

The only reason I considered a cane at all is that I think using a walker makes me look more vulnerable when the time comes that I venture out on my own. People are crazy these days and I don't want to look like a sitting duck when I park the car in a lot and remove the walker from the trunk. Also I can't defend myself with a walker. I can swing a cane

@Bird mama Thank you, very helpful. I don't like the having to use one finger, much prefer the entire hand grip. I probably should buy one as I could return it if I didn't like it, may just do that.
