had a good chat with my nurse lady today about what to expect-she gave me much hope-she said i have much experience in having boots.having exerciseing as much as i do she doubts i will have problems-she thinks i may have to have some of that PT stuff to show how to walk correctly after toe is healed. give me a boot and i will walk.
waiting for storms to hit-no debbie yet-no cold front yet.

@Snicks1 He basically said: flex and rotate the foot and walk in the boot. He said that I had options now and that I could pace myself - nothing like doing mall shopping or grocery shopping or stuff like lawn mowing, lol.
When I asked him about PT a few weeks ago he said that he wasn't sure that he was going to prescribe PT - he wants me to work at my pace.
I am not in a hurry to overwork my foot. I adjusted the straps on the air cast to allow some range of motion. Once I am comfortable with that setting I will release the straps to allow a bit more range of motion. I feel like I am learning to walk all over again. I am not freestyling yet - I walk slowly behind the walker.

@viva923 I am so happy to read that your conversation with the nurse went well. Knowing what to expect makes a difference.

@Bird mama When I had my hip replacement, at a younger age than usual, a result of the childhood injury that had me on crutches for a year, my surgeon did not prescribe going to PT, but gave me exercises to do in bed, yipeee, was so happy about that. I had to turn my ankle and other moves, all from bed.
A little weight at a time, as I had to do as a child once it was time for me to begin to walk again, a pound a day or so, then two, etc. It was scary after a year of not stepping on that foot.
