@possummink

I'll tell you one thing, my 'chicken' (lol) Grayson would peck the heck out of me if I tried to put him in some kind of garment.  My eldest sister wanted me to take pics of him with a small santa hat on (for Christmas cards) and the look I gave her said it all. She accuses me of lacking a sense of humor.  I told her, he's a living, feeling valuable member of my flock.  He is not a toy, he is not to be used for entertainment, he is family.

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise

Bernie,  My Mattie won't even look at the camera for me to get a good picture of her.   If she sees me aiming it at her,  she turns away.   I would never get anything on her, clothes wise, or even collar wise.  She's never had to wear a collar and won't tolerate anything on her head, neck, back etc.   She's happiest just being a furry kid, not a model.   Our Schnauzers were different,   they loved wearing a sweater or a bandana around their neck.  They knew that they were attracting attention and for their sake they had to wear a sweater or jacket outside in the winter as they had very little body fat to keep them warm, unlike my brother's Rottweilers.

Why chickens need sweaters,  no clue.  They have an underlayer of feathers, similar to ducks and geese as insulation against the cold.

I heard today was National Dog Day.  So for all of you out there, HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY, INTERNATIONAL DOG DAY, WORLDWIDE DOG DAY, ALL OVER THE PLACE DOG DAY.  What am I saying?  Every day is DOG ...: I heard today was National Dog Day.  So for all of you out there, HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY, INTERNATIONAL DOG DAY, WORLDWIDE DOG DAY, ALL OVER THE PLACE DOG DAY.  What am I saying?  Every day is DOG ...

Winifred,  How do you get those goatheads off of Conrad's feet or even off of your shoes without you getting stuck pretty bad by those awful seed pods or what ever they are?   I looked them up to see what the heck kind of plant they came from and was surprised that it isn't ugly as homemade sin.  Is  this what your plants look like?   I can't imagine stepping onto one of those things and getting impaled by them.   Does herbicide work on them?   Not a fan of herbicides but maybe a blowtorch.   Guess that's out of the question due to the drought ya'll have out there.   We have a grass called nut grass, and it's awful to deal with too.It has sticker like thingys that get on socks, shoe strings,  pants legs, and they cling like beggar lice seeds do,  only these stick your fingers when you try to pull them off.  Not as awful looking as those goatheads, but painful to have on your clothes,  socks and shoes.     I feel sorry for anything or anyone that would step on those things.  Do you comb them off of Conrad?  or use a ?? pliers to pull them off.   You sure don't want one in your fingers.    Sorry to go on and on about them.

We didn't get anywhere near the inches of rainfall from the remnants of that Hurricane Erika that was supposed to hit Florida.  Some off and on showers so far.  Actually could use a bit of rain as it drys up so fast here with the heat and sandy soil.

Keep cool and get your rest.
