Hi Freddie - if I ever need cataract surgery, I hope they do mine at the crack of dawn, preferably if I'm half asleep so my nerves won't be on high alert. 

Betty - it's always a good idea to have copies on your test results.  There are many places to buy hearing aids from these days.  Glad to read that Jody made it home, even if I've never met her.

Sue - I misunderstood about the Kindle.  I thought you handed it to Jim and he misplaced it.  I'm glad he found it :-)  I'm late to post today, so by now you've had your surgery and I am praying that it went well.

Very cool here this morning but we are supposed to get a change to hot and humid.   School started yesterday.  It was strange.  Transportation funds were cut and school starting times were staggered.  I enjoyed watching the kids walking to the bus stop even those that picked up my stones and used a sign for target practice.   Guess I'm not going to have that challenge this year.  The sidewalks were empty.   Some of the schools were still finishing up repairs so there were long lines at pickup and drop off times.  Two of my Granchildren are teachers. One teaches high school and one teaches in middle school.   Their kids are in middle high but in a differentt middle school. My great granddaughter is in pre school. I'm glad I'm not over there in the mornings.  We are headed to the dermatologist this morning for Merle to get his yearly burning and cutting.  Poor guy.

Betty, I'm not aware of any schools starting right now, then again I don't have kids or grandkids.  My property line backs up to a couple of public schools and I think they don't resume until after Labor Day.

Sorry that Merle got worked over by the dermatologist this morning :-(

Well the rain is here, hopefully more than the sprinkle of yesterday, like you Yock our weather has been the same, we really need the rain now, sorry Winifred  I know your situation is much worse, I keep hoping you get some relief but please be careful with the bunny hop! Bird glad your basement light job is done makes one feel good doesn't it, hope the beak is also

Well my lost post is here so I'll add to it, but I've forgotten the what else I wanted to say Hah old age creeping in again School here in ChiTown starts after Labor Day, but my grandkids in the suburbs start next week. Our weather has been great for the last few days bu t it's supposed to get hot/humid soon, had to water pots of course, but my azalea & hydrangea "tree" were drooping so let the hose drip for an hour or so, & they did perk up. Yesterday was my day at O'Hare, all went smoothly, I had a "meet n greet" a 93 year old WWII Vet, so interesting, he was a spy, among other posts, picked him up at his arrival from Cedar Rapids, connecting to NY, to visit his sons, we had a 2 hour layover & quite a hike from one end of the airport to the other, did the wheelchair, don't think he liked it but I was concerned, but he wouldn't take the chair down the jetway to the plane, took his walker & I kid you not he practically ran I had trouble keeping up, love those guys! Tonite is steaks on the grill, baked, string beans, & cucumber salad for me. Hope all is well

thanks for stopping in MacDuff. Come often.  Went to dermatologist yesterday with dh. They biopsied two spots on head and one on elbow.  I'm sure we will be getting a surgical call soon.  His skin was sun damaged years ago when he baled hay with no protection  he has very fair skin.    We have these surgeries frequently.  Sunny here today and headed to high humidity.

Just found out if I uncheck relative dates under display in my preferences the actual date of post appears.   Nice.  Don't know why I didn't see that before.  I always put newest one first.

Another revelation.  I just noticed that my post numbers never change.   I wonder if that is because I usually just grab my iPad.  Strange.  I don't think it is my imagination cause I've posted three times on here and it still didn't change.

We've had a beautiful day in N.C.   The humidity has finally gone down and the temps back to normal for this time of year.

I'm going to check out J.Jill this afternoon after work, and told my husband he was on his own for dinner (I'm having oatmeal)...I would say "poor guy," but I cook 3 or 4 x per wk -- meat and potatoes yawn -- and we go out once or twice to nice restaurants, and I simply cannot eat like I used to.  In fact, I'm downright sick of eating LOL.  I need to watch my weight, and, as I have to remind handsome often:   I. Am. Not. A. Cook. Nor. Am. I. THE. Cook.

Is that awful?
