I actually got COLD last night. That, however, can be typical of our nights regardless of the time of the year. Am sitting here in my slanket and had to shut the window - too chilly for these old bones. Never fear as in a few hours it will be HOT. Yesterday was quite nice however.
In a while am heading to pick up Jeannie and we are heading to church. The Pastor who resigned will be attending for the last time today - they are heading to Arizona. Such a sad story but am sure they will survive but will be missed. Jeannie and I asked to take them to lunch after the service and they were able to do that - we knew they are busy but feel really delighted they have the time to spend with us. Very nice people.
Finally broke down and sprayed some weeds yesterday. Out front in the area that has gravel - between the lawn and street - it was full of weeds. Those two heavy storms we had produced weeds everywhere - didn't get more grass growing but the weeds are thick. Had delayed working out back because of those bunnies. They are still coming over here and I cannot get them corralled. I also sprayed some out back - area right next to my back yard - did not do way out back and it is really bad out there. I certainly do not want to cause harm to those bunnies but my yard is getting away from me and I am now getting a tad angry. I cannot chop the weeds at this point, they have gotten too far out of control. If I were younger, perhaps but even so it would be a big job. Am so torn about this so will probably go over there this afternoon and talk a bit sterner to them. They are NOT taking care of those cute critters.
Shortly am heading to the kitchen for a bowl of oatmeal with dates, raisens and nuts - yummy!!!!
Hope all have an extra good day. Am leaving coffee and some of that yummy oatmeal fixings. Dig in.

Hello there Fencers - I have today off and am enjoying a long weekend. I had a few things that I wanted to accomplish this past weekend and am almost there.
I trimmed my eldest bird's beak on Friday night. I have provided just about every beak grooming thing (cuttlebones, mineral blocks, grooming perches) to this bird over 10 years and he is not interesting in maintaining his oral hygiene. I've been trimming his beak since he was 4 months old and my nerves STILL get jumpy.
Because he's really geriatric, I worry about giving him a heart attack. If I don't trim it, he gets scissor beak ( upper and bottom of mouth don't meet properly). He can continue to eat, but drinking water is a problem. I am determined he is going back to God from old age, not because his mom was chickensh*t about grooming his beak and he starved.
I replaced the shoplights in the basement and went from fluorescent to LED. Under normal circumstances, this is no big deal, remove the old shoplight and hand the new shoplight.
The largest room in my basement has a dropped ceiling and the shoplights are hung almost like recessed lighting. I really don't like working with a dropped ceiling - it's hard to get the tiles back in the first time. I didn't drop the ceiling, it was like this when I bought the house - it does look neat. Man, those old shoplights were heavy. I am not known for my arm strength so I was doing alot of grumbling.
I then was able to cut my grass yesterday after getting the grocery shopping done. We had some rain on Saturday and I thought we were getting rain last night and today (sun is currently shining) so I jumped on the chance to get the grass cut.
Today, I may go over to BoRics and get my hair cut. The lady who cuts my hair at BoRics has been doing it for a decade. She has seen me through many family illnesses and deaths. Love her :-)
I'm looking at the clarks TSV and telling myself I don't need a new pair of shoes (lol).

Bunny Hop, huh Betty? Guess I had best do something. Last evening I spotted them for a few minutes and they were in their back yard. If I spot them in my yard today am just going to call animal control. they are not getting enough food any way - they are very thin but seem to be super happy bunnies.
Very chilly this morning but the heat is coming.
I posted on the Birds Nest that Jody fell and hurt her back. Jody was the instigator of the Birds Nest thread and was a daily contributer here at the Back Fence - also way back when. She also would post as her dog Violet and those posts were hysterical. She is a super human being, unbelievably talented in many ways and as funny as they come. She left the boards when the revamped them the time before this revamp. We lost so many great posters then - actually every time there has been a revamp, some have waved goodbye. I know new posters come on board but do miss some of those original posters - and Jody was one of those - I started a short while after the boards began but Jody was an original. Bless her.
Curves is beckoning - have a great day everyone.

Good luck on the bunny round up. I'm on my way to get a copy of my hearing test. Want to shop around before I make a decision. Thanks to a fellow poster I learned that Costco has a much better price than my ENT doctor and in fact besides their store brand they also sell the very same hearing aid I looked at. I didn't know if I'd be able to get a copy of my test results or not but all I have to do is sign a release. Supposed to be raining but it isn't. We're making up for all the rain we got earlier this spring and summer. Still all the weather people say we will have rain. Sun is shining.

Hi all; been busy doing this and that. Jim found my Kindle the first day. It had slipped down between the console and seat. What a relief. I had never given it to Jim that day so I'se the culprit
A friend passed away unexpectedly last week. We attended his grave side service. He shall be sorely missed.
After worship services yesterday we took folks to lunch and Jim told the waitress he wanted one check and to give it to him. After an enjoyable visit we started out and Jim went to pay and was informed that the bill had been paid . He started to leave a tip and was informed that a tip had been left. Sneaky people! They were supposed to be our guest's, but it was nice of them and we appreciated it.
Well tomorrow is cataract removal for my right eye. I don't seem to be to nervous about it; the thing I dread most is the many eye drops I have to use. I have such a difficult time keeping my eye open can't eat or drink anything after midnight and my procedure is scheduled at 12:15 so that's a long time without something, but am sure I'll survive. Hopefully after tomorrow I'll be able to read all the post's with more ease.
This situation in Ferguson is absolutely ridiculous!
A peach orchard company in CO brings their wonderful, deicious, juicy fruit to this part of the state each year and Jim makes sure his car is one one of the first in a very long line to get a box. Oh, my, I wish I could share these little gems with all of you. They are SO good!
Starting to have some pain in my fingers and wrist again. Wasn't happy about that.
Hope all are well. Happy Monday all! Sue

Your cataract surgery will be a breeze Sue - am so happy you are finally getting it done. Nothing to it. I was lucky, had both my surgeries at the crack of dawn - in fact I am not sure they do them as late as yours where I go. I know I have always had to be there around 5:30 or 6 in the morning to sign in, etc. I think both surgeries were done about 7 or so - very early and I was home in a couple hours or less. LOL. The eye drops will also be a snap - not as bad as one may think. Glad you found your Kindle.
Leaving coffee and my fav blueberry bagels - love those things. Dig in everyone.
Have a great day. Have not heard if Jody made it home yesterday - sure hope so - but am sure I will hear something.

Jodys FB page indicates she did go home. Hope she has no lasting effects from the fall. We had a brief rain shower last night. By the time I closed the sunroom windows it was over. Supposed to be dry the rest of the week. Yesterday there were hardly any new posts showing on my iPad. Today there were quite a few marked yesterday. Hope that is a one time occurrence.
